What would be the point in sacking him now? He’s tailored the squad to what he wants and we don’t have any money or an open transfer window to sign new players for any new manager.

Even worse, the players he has signed have very little sell on value with the exception of Martinez.

May as well ride it out for now, things can change quickly and we could look completely different in the space of a couple of games. There were some signs there at the start of todays game.

We need to avoid a battering at Bayern at all costs or we’re likely to spiral due to external pressures, fans getting on the players backs and general squad harmony.

Sounds hyperbolic after todays game but the Brighton manager will be in demand at any big vacancy coming up in the next 12 months. He’s took over a side that’s sold it’s best players yet somehow they’ve got better. He plays a good brand of football with the likes of Lallana, Welbeck and Gilmour all being regular starters.

Talking purely on the football side of things I've always thought he was overrated. This was my conclusion from the end of last season. The problem we have is that outside of Klopp and Guardiola there's hardly any stand out managers that will completely transform our team. And what I mean by that is win us the league and ucl. What I'm most disappointed with ten hag is the shape, tactics and in game management seen. Its been poor. His subs are also baffling. He's been unlucky with the shaninigans outside football.

We simply lack numbers upfront. And that means goals. Mount was such an unnecessary signing. I just want to see good football ffs. Us dominating possession away from home and not relying on 1 goal margin wins. I want to see comfortable wins with chances created. We have not seen that with ETH for some time now. Regressed.

Rangnick was a guy knowing his onions but utterly incapable of transmitting that knowledge to his players.

We still have a lot of players who either can't or won't do what the manager wants, and the hierarchy at the club let's them get away with it.

You find a system and a selection of players that work. Rashford provides enough on the ball to be worth his spot, and him having a shit work rate alone isn't the cause of this. Have your squad. Punt out the ones you don't want. There's only so many excuses that can be made. He did well last year. But he has a CF now and a GK now which were 2 gaping holes. There is no excuse to go backwards. There aren't excuses to be completely out coached. Today had 0 to do with individuals. Today was all about the system. There were massive spaces for McTominay and Eriksen to cover all day, and they struggled with it all day. How Ten Hag saw that game and didn't see what was so painfully obvious to me is what is concerning to me. It was the most basic of adjustments from Brighton and they eases to a dominant victory.

We got third last season without a natural goalscoring striker and we have improved the squad massively this season. I feel it is just knee jerk to say we will not challenge for top four. Once we get manioo, amarabat and even mount back in the squad, our midfield will look much stronger. And I changed 'might' to 'will'

I think the injuries and off field drama have taken a major toll on the squad. It also doesn’t help when our manager makes the baffling decisions that he made today. I do hope we turn it around and contend for top 4, and players returning will be a major boost, but the title is already gone.

How many times has this been a conversation over the manager during the last ten years, the club needs change at the very top and a sound structure in place otherwise whoever the manager is will just be operating with one arm tied behind their back, the club only starts to genuinely recover when there is legitimate change at the top and with owners who let the club run on its own potential with the handbrake off and its identity rediscovered.

You spend one year in playing in one way, you spend a fortune on players for that system and then because two players are unavailable, you completely change formation And way of play. I am not against diamond formation but changing into that after only few games in a season is just wrong decision.

Eth is the most overhyped manager ever. Playing weghorst as a number 10 should be a clear sign of his tactical clueness

At Ajax it was no difference. Who the hell subs an inexperienced/unfit player in, in the most most important game in forever..the cl semi final against spurs. Mallagan was subbed in, last minutes. It was him who the made the mistake in the last minute that saw spurs scoring the winning. Before being sub in the spurs..before that all together he must've played 10minutes in total all last minutes subs.

Who does that??? Same with the Eth experiment at Ajax. Promes playing at 10, labyad as striker. Absolute disgrace having those two players playing that position. It went on for matches that because of his stubborn. End of his last season at Ajax he played Haller as a right wing. A tall long striker with no speed, no passing, no dribbling.

Ohh yea and his second season at Ajax saw on the worst run in club history defeat after defeat. He was only saved by Corona, since that ended the season earlier.

I am taking back this overhyped manager asap as our current situation is a lot worse than it was with him. Yes, i want ETH back because our structure is perfect for him. United one is not.

He is very likely to stay beyond 3 years.

I'm sure Moyes, Mourinho and Ole were also due for a 20 year tenure.

He’s the best manager we’ve had since Ferguson and not at all comparable to Moyes (who had zero credibility at this level and whose first season was a disaster), Mourinho (who has not been a long term solution for anybody, ever) and Ole (who simply lacked experience and skills to perform in the job over longer period of time).

Of course there’s still a chance things will go wrong but based on his first season wit us it seems very likely that he will be able to sustain success over the long term (thinking 6-7 years here, anything beyond that is always a bonus with managers, even the best of them).

If ETH goes this season, it will mean that Martial will have survived Van Gaal, Mourinho, Ole, Carrick (as caretaker), Rangnick (as interim) and ETH. The lack of good scouting and transfer business has been by far our biggest failure this last decade. The structure of the club continues to be a mess and it will continue to be a mess after ETH goes, whenever he goes. The club has become a dead end. A place where talent goes to die.

Because ETH has already been giving the tools to succeed with getting the players he wanted and time. So far, what I m noticing is that even with the backing he got, he still can't implement an attractive brand of football that brings result. I will be fine with either one of those, but I have not seen none yet. But, I will still give him time to see if he can turn it around

he’s been backed ? Are you sure? As many of his signings have been loan deals or free transfers. Do you see pep getting loan deals? No you don’t. Do you see him holding on to players with attitude problems? Nope. United also over pay for players. That’s not on ETH. Our recruitment is non existent. Again, not on ETH. Can’t sell players he clearly doesn’t want. Not on ETH.

My point is that it's a tiresome cliché on here that's overused. I'm on record as saying that I would be weary signing any Brigton players or taking their manager as the structures at the club are top class. I said as much when Chelsea took Potter.

Not at all. I was very wrong about him, perhaps judging him based on his best season at Ajax. He’s a very mediocre manager it turns out and will probably end up managing Wolfsburg or Fulham at best once we inevitably dismiss him.
