Doesn't deserve the sack. Am worried about the lack of goals in the team though. Am worried about his persistence with Antony. Am worried about our style of play. We simply have to beat this Forrest team though. They are shite. If he can't turn this around and then loses to Arsenal, then he's going to be under pressure from all angles. Again, he has enough in the bank for me personally. Bigger problems than him. Wish him well....

Anyone who genuinely wants him sacked as of today is a petulant child. Grow up

We actually can. And we are. We spend more than them in transfer fees, we spend more than them in wages. It has been a decade since we are overspending them,

However, organizationally they are in a different galaxy compared to us. From the DoF and the structure around him, to the manager, they have people who know what are doing. We do not.

It costs money to upgrade the organisational structure, plus adding transfers, we can't do both. City can and have.

There are no shortage of people here who want us run like Chelsea
Since last we won a big trophy, they've won the league twice and once UCL. And usually finished higher than us. And did better in Europe.

While spending less than us.

Reason why is because there are better manager that could be attainable like de zerbi. If the club get bought out, I rather de zerbi conduct the rebuild job than ETH at the moment.

I m not typically a result guy. ETH was brought to improve our footballing aesthetic. If we wanted shoddy wins, we would have just kept Ole. We bought in ETH to imbue an attractive footballing philosophy and I have not seen that yet. When you see how fast Pochettino, postecoglue and de zerbi has changed the culture and footballing nature of their respective club, it shouldn't be that hard to do at United.

This season is the season that we should be challenging for the title and champion league, moreover look more like a cohesive unit. Perhaps it is just a slow start, but that should be expectations going into this season.
Yes we brought in ten hag to imput his style of play and philosophy. Like you say when you are seeing de zerbi and potchettino and even ange they have already got the team playing how they want you wonder what ten hag is telling these players or just how the players refuse to listen to anyone

So De zerbi is now they flavour of the month? Just like ETH was a few seasons ago.

Poch has been there 5 minutes, and at least Chelsea show ambition in the transfer market. Joke of a post.
De Zerbi is a good manager, whether or not he could do it at United is a different story, but we'd probably be better going for a manager that is used to getting something out of his current players than a manager that wants £500m to bring his own players in.

I know the glazers are a stain on the club but what have they got to do with tactics and how shit we look on the pitch? mentality of the players? The manager has spent a fair amount of money on players who he wanted no matter who owned the club.
You just answered your own question. Proper owners don't hand a manager a blank check and say "have at it, buy who you want".

They put the structures in place to ensure the right specialized people take care of that, while the manager focuses on what he's good at: coaching.

You have to wonder how long can we be struggling before it is seriously suggested that he is sacked.

I would be more lenient with him if it wasn't for the the lack of progression with our football and his terrible judgement with splashing huge cash thrown away on flops that only got brought because he was familiar with them via having played in the Dutch league

it's 3 games into the season though, if you or anyone is expecting him to get sacked after this game you're going to be very disappointed.

i’m not expecting him sacked. I’m just saying the problems that he was hired to rectify are still there and we appear to have regressed from last season

I'm not joking when I say he needs to send in a request to postpone our matches until October.

We need more time to train. It's like watching Mercedes fail in the F1.

The Premier League should wait for us to be ready because we are Manchester United.

Our players could not play his football though, we would need 2 new wide players and a CM to start.

The problem is that you're making premature evaluations.

It costs money to upgrade the organisational structure, plus adding transfers, we can't do both. City can and have.
It does not cost that much money to hire a competent DoF, and a couple other competent football people around him. Our DoF is essentially someone who negotiates the transfers that the manager wants.

Don’t understand how all these United managers post Ferguson neglect our midfield so much. Pretty much the most important part of the pitch for any team for last 15 years. Not asking for a sacking but why did we drop £60m on Mount?!

Would have cost a fraction of the amount we've wasted on players who aren't fit for purpose.

What's his football though? Does anyone know? And I'm pretty sure Casemiro, Bruno, Rashford etc don't play his kind of football but they're all regular starters.
I was meaning De Zerbi, I am yet to work out what Ten Hag is doing.

The only two things that concern me about ETH are his transfer strategy and the way we've come out of the blocks this year. The former obviously informing the latter.

A quarter of a billion quid spent on largely nepotism transfers (Martinez, Antony, Malacia, Onana et al) plus Mount, and with the exception of Martinez, little return on any of them. Unless Hojlund ends up being a gem this year, significant questions will be asked about why he didn't prioritize funds for Kane over a player like Mount.
This, and it’s not being knee-jerk pointing it out. Anyone who can’t see this has their red-tinted glasses on.

But seeing as he is, do you give him more money to fix it or do you sack him and bring someone else in who might do better in the transfer market?
Neither. You stop giving managers money for transfers, and hire specialists to handle all recruitment operations. You know, like every serious club does.

Not Ten Hag out but he should never have been responsible for our transfer window. We will probably end up 5-7 this year and he will have to blamed for it, unfortunately.
How do our managers keep ending up responsible for the window? Most of their targets are shite. Should've learned by now.

The problem is that you're making premature evaluations.
He's into his second season here. It's not premature to evaluate what we're watching. It's reasonable to expect far better given the time and money he's had

It's the definition of insanity. We keep doing it over and over, and expecting different results.

i dont think its too early to see that we still cant really do anything with possession and rely on counter attacks tbh. Last season was the same

Ten Hag has proved nothing to suggest he is the best of the rest. Tuchel and Ancelotti have done more to get that title. And Ten Hag is far from blameless. He bought his new players, he chose the tactics, he has been given power to make decisions and they are backfiring.
I forgot Ancelotti and put him alongside Guardiola and Klopp. I also clarified my point by saying he is in the group of best of the rest and stand by it. I wouldn't swap ETH for any other manager aside from the elite best in the business, who United are not getting anyway. Obviously, my opinion can change depending on what happens in the next 2-3 years, but that's where I am right now. Furthermore, I say in my post that ETH is not blameless.

It cannot be a coincidence that over 3-4 managers, there are core players who have let them down. These players still play a role in the squad and first team. Roy Keane called it and said it will happen time and time again. We do have good players and some winners, mostly signed in the last two years, but I question how much the malaise the club is in drags those good players down. United has been making players worse for years. Managers too, perhaps.

Keep telling yourself this.
Guess you didn’t sense the sarcasm… I wasn’t saying that… that’s what most of the fan base was saying and probably the same people wanting him out..

It's reasonable to expect far better than 3rd and a cup in his first season? Behave.

Wonder how we came back from 2-0 down.

Since SAF retired, we have signed in midfield: Fellaini (Moyes), Blind, Herrera, Scheinderling, Schweinsteiger (LvG), Matic, Pogba, Fred (Mourinho), Donny (Ole), Casemiro, Eriksen and Mount (ten Hag).

We have signed many, just that we have been shit at it. Not a single player without questions there.

Herrera was the best of them.

Why were we 2-0 down? Does coming from 2-0 down mean from this moment forth we will be positionally amazing and world beaters in possession? Odd point

Because our club is run by imbeciles. There’s not even an alternative because there is no one in the club who can identify targets.

Because glazers have no ambition except champions league spot and our directors are allowed to half ass recruitment by just passing the buck to the managers without getting the boot, case in point woodward....

You said we can't do anything with possession and rely on counter attacks. We scored two goals that did not come from counter attacks and came from our constant threats into their third.
And you claim I'm making odd points.

Instead of constantly moaning - look at all of the other teams and count which ones are on fire right now. You'd struggle to make it past 1.

67% possession. 3 clear cut chances. ‘Constant threats’
