The competition and those below have advanced while we have stood stil and that is clear to see but lower clubs who historically should have no right to be on our level will out surpass us and play better football and should or will eventually finish above us ie Brigtion, Brentford, Newcastle and Spurs.

It is a bit of an issue that we have basically asked him to pick players to sign, and he clearly has zero idea what he’s doing in the market. As a result we’ve spent almost half a billion and the next manager would maybe keep Martinez and Onana, at best Hojlund if he works out.
I personally think he’s an average manager. Our big game performances have arguably been worse than under Ole (definitely worse if we overlook Ole’s disastrous final months as we had actually been decent in big games prior to that).

I think last season people really overlooked the fact that Chelsea were non existent and Liverpool collapsed - and even then, we almost fecked up top 4. It’s as if people thought last season wasn’t an outlier when it clearly was.
He did well last season, winning a cup was fecking awesome and he’s a likeable coach imo - this season will be A LOT tougher, made all the more difficult by what I believe is a bad transfer window.
Not only that but we still aren't playing with someone who's a natural striker, and are using our best wide player in an unnatural position to compensate for the lack of a striker. That'll hopefully improve our attacking output, but I have to admit that I think that we'd be better off with an Amrabat-Casemiro-Bruno/Mount combination than Casemiro-Bruno-Mount as the benefit of the double 8/10 is not obvious to me.

I still have faith/hope in ETH but I don't see that as being a good excuse when we've seen plenty of managers takeover a struggling team and see their style of play transition very quickly. Last season the results were generally decent but I never thought we were particularly impressive.
This slow start is a bit concerning since he's spent the best part of nearly £400m and we look a little clueless. It's early in the season but the signs were there last season which has me a bit worried. He can turn things around and I'm still backing him but I have my doubts with ETH now.
We don't look like a team that is just missing one final piece and I hope fans don't pin all their hopes on our new striker to make things tick.

I believe Hojlund and Mount are very odd signings and a highly questionable way to blow £110m.
I also believe Antony was a complete waste of £90m - comically bad transfer.

Not currently a popular opinion on Caf, but I genuinely think that Martinez won’t start under the new manager. He has too many weaknesses in his game. Likely would be a quite good squad player but he is essentially an expensive Heinze, Blind, Ake level of player.
