I'm sure it's been mentioned but what is Dier's contract situation?
Let me google that for you...I'm sure it's been mentioned but what is Dier's contract situation?
Thanks mate. Lazyitus on a Sunday morning.Let me google that for you...

I have absolutely zero interest in signing Dier. He's extremely overrated, would be very difficult and expensive to sign and I can't see what he would add to the United squad.
The only reason I can think Jose likes him is the assaults on Chelsea players at Stamford Bridge last season.
Why, because his stats don't add up for your lazy opinion?
You probably said the same about Carrick when we tried to sign him.
Dier would be a better buy for United than anyone else we're linked with this summer. EXACTLY what this side needs. But its gonna be very tough to land him. There are lots of attacking players - we could go Griezmann, Lukaku, Moratta, blah, blah...loads of options to improve us in the final third. But in midfield? It;s very hard to find consistency and discipline anywhere in the world. The central midfield role has evolved so much in the past couple of years that it's hard to find the right individual. Dier is perfect for what we need.
This its up there with the signing of FellainiI am not against him, but not at that price. Spending close to 100m on him and Perisic is nothing short of shocking.
I'm not against Dier at all. Assuming we get a left back who can attack, Dier sitting allows both full backs to go forward. He's the sort of player we need to go 433.
Agree, he will improve with Mourinho, look at Fellaini, for example.
Why would he? He is currently with a better coach. Fellaini has improved because he is now playing for a coach that has a system that suits him.
Pochettino replaced Dier by bringing in Wanayama for £12-15 mill. Now we are supposed to be willing to pay £40 mill for Dier.

I can't see a lot of reason of why people are against this transfer apart from the fees. Dier is very versatile player (RB, DM, CB) and I think he's a good defensive midfielder in term of quality and I reckon he's good enough to play for us especially in Jose's system and will be a useful signing and also fill in the role that we need (holding midfielder role). Personally I prefer Fabinho over him since he's cheaper (from what I heard) but to me in term of quality they both are pretty much equal.
Mourinho's first conference. He doesn't like utility players.

Just because a player can play more than one position, it doesn't make him a utility player. Messi can play many positions at a high level, but he's not a utility player because of it.
Similarly we have Verthongen and Alderweireld who have played right and left back for Belgium. Doesn't seem to make them worse at CB.
I think Mourinho meant to have players who aren't good enough for any one position, but kept simply for cover becauee of their versatility. Something I don't think is the case with Dier.
Never believe on what manager said on media. Mourinho: I prefer specialist. A few months later, Mourinho: Valencia is the best right back in the world. Even though we all know he wasn't a specialist right back.

Not sure that logic holds - Valencia is now a specialist right-back and has been for a few seasons. Yes he has changed position over his career, but he's never been a utility player.
Blind would be a better example, he still gets plenty of games.
Plays as a CM for country as well.He can play as a right winger or right midfielder and a right back.
Is this a joke? The last time Valencia played RW was against Everton 2 years ago.
We will swap you him for Rashford if you want.
That's the worry, couldn't boss a game against 10 men. Looked very timid and had no idea what to do with the ball, was out of position so often and left massive holes infront of the defence. At least his value will have gone down after last night!

I really don't want him.
