English cricket thread

I see the thread drama queen is back.

Good fightback from the Aussies. Game is even, big last session.

350+ is Aussies happy i think.

Good urgency there from England to make sure they got the extra over in. Keep them to 300-320 and that's still a reasonable effort.

Head hasn't looked comfortable but he looks like he'll get to 50. Carey's had a good Ashes so far.

Anything over 300, I think Aussies will feel they're in with a shout.

I can see them getting 350 easily from here. Then their bowling attack will likely do what we did at the start, which without the dropped catches will end up with us struggling to get 250.

I’ve been in a meeting since 2. Every time I looked at the screen it was damn boundary. It’s hard not to feel deflated after that, despite still being in a good position.

Yeh despite the scoreline being even if I was the Aussies i'd sense an opening here. If these two or Cummins can get a partnership going we have a hint of crumbling around us at the min.

Moeens bowling was borderline village throw downs.

You'd think the score was 400/2 judging by this thread. 240/5 is fairly average on a ground where teams chase down 300+.

Yep they don't drop dolly catches at critical times

Well maybe I wouldn't need to be like that IF England weren't dumbasses when catching

Aussies will be the sadder team if Robinson is injured.

Yeah Joe Root owes us two massive innings now.

 Get in Joe - love that "celebration" ... you can't stay mad at the magnificent bastard for too long.

Root gets lucky that his 2nd drop didn’t cost the team anything. Top bowling from Woakes.

Really odd innings from Head but was a good partner to Marsh.

Yes but the context is us dropping the two batsmen who have done the damage early on, in a series where we’ve been sloppy throughout and its cost us the games, so they could easily be all out by now.

I mean it’s obvious, but Wood’s pace in the team wins us the first test. No chance of the tail end chasing those runs down.

That’s what sheer pace does. Gets batsmen shook.

I agree but sadly wasn't fit. Need to keep him fit for the rest of the series.

I know, but for all the criticism, England have been really out of luck with their bowling options, while Australia have been able to field their best team every time.

Aussies have collapsed more consistently than England in this series strangely.
