Head plays identical to Warner but with the advantage of not having to face a brand new ball

I remember him opening, or was that in ODIs. Looks like he is most likely to replace warner at the top atleast for one of the next two tests, surely.

They've really let the Aussies off the hook here, need a wicket sharpish to get control back.

The effect of dropped catches isn't just the loss of the wicket, they drag the momentum of the team down too, completely changing the complexion of the game.

Should stop playing Golf and you know actually practice catching the ball instead

Catches win matches. At 0-2 down in the series, criminal to drop so many catches.

Marsh is going to hit a hundred here.

If he had gone, I genuinely think we could have had them all out for below 250.

Marsh has bullied England's attack here. He looks in ominous form.

Wheels are coming off here. You simply do not drop catches against Australia and get away with it.

England's team balance is all wrong..
long tail that cant bat.
keeper who is clearly not good enough.

Who picks these teams?

Cannot believe we dropped both these guys. This has been such a frustrating series.

He's bazballing England.

What a great knock - 100 off 102. Brought in from the cold and he does that. That takes some balls.

If we lose this test match we've robbed everyone of a top series via sloppyness. Very frustrating.

Ofcourse credit to Marsh and Head for making the most of it,

We've absolutely fecked this.

This being the Ashes and this series with how its gone one way then another, it was obviously never going to be straight forward... but you feel like it could have been

Still fancy us, but we'll do it the hard way, obviously.

Nah it's gone since lunch

And complacency. Diabolical declaration in the first innings of the first match set the tone for the rest of the series.

Just the wrong sort of attitude and intensity for such a big series.

This is a mental issue more than anything else. When England are ahead in the game, they somehow find a way to hand the initiative back to Australia.

Three dropped catches, one an absolute dolly. They have bottled it.

Yeah Broady is giving Ruud a decent game

Any period of play where we do well seems to then be followed by a string of errors that then extinguishes any hope of us actually seizing the game. It’s been a theme in every game so far.

We’ll probably get another flurry of wickets again in a bit but then let them back in with the tail knocking us about or an early batting collapse.

What a ton by Mitch Marsh. Could well be pivotal in Australia's quest to retain the Ashes in this test. Remember Joe Root dropped the big bison when he was on 12.

He's class. He's such a unit and his ground strokes look so technically sound and orthodox.

I thought it was 2-1 when the 4th wicket went down. Swung the match back into parity in one session. This is another good session from England being in real trouble

That's sensational by Mitch Marsh. He was given a life but he has capitalized on it. Fair play.

So bloody frustrating. Marsh has hardly been in the team and we let him off and make him into a world beater.

Nonsense, not sure why everyone is focusing so much on a declaration as a stick to beat this side with, were losing this series through crap catching and bad shot making mostly, we could have won that first test easily.

I'm not a regular cricket watcher, just the ashes and the odd 20/20 game here and there.

Why do the bowlers get all the credit for a catch? They can't be that good at bowling it if the batter hit it. Yet some guy pulls off some diving catch, and the bowler wheels away like he's won the world cup.

It's more like the person who assisted the goal with a 2 yard sideways pass getting the plaudits rather the guy who belted it top corner from 35 yards.

And if the batters were any good, they'd just hit it away from the fielders.

I suggest you stick to 20/20 mate :p

If we come out strong after this break and bowl them all out for under 300 then you would fancy us.

Yeah we just toss the initiative back with such ease and explains why we are 2-0 down,Ashes will be over as a contest after Monday unfortunately
