English cricket thread

All results possible. Should be a fascinating session & day ahead.

Great effort by England today. Wasn't sure that bowling attack had it in them.

Not seeing a media pile on for the Aussies not capitalising on ANOTHER dominant position.

As it is they're still favourites but England have a chance. 150-2 at stumps please lads.

Think England's chances are pretty slim but they've done well to keep it possible.

Aussie batting will get a lot of deserved blame if England do pull off the unlikely.

A bowler light and a pitch on which runs can be made, surely England are in it as much as Australia?

Where's that negative nobhead today? Croadyman or whatever his User is.

Assume he will pop up if we go 50-3.

So 370 in 4 sessions. Very doable. We will obviously see short pitches bowling and packed leg side fields. But there is only so long Aus can play that tactic. With no Lyon to hold an end they can't spend 120 overs banging it in to the middle of the pitch. Of course they may not need to if England go after the short stuff and get themselves out.

I predicted Australia would be bowled out but the general feeling was that they would just carry on batting and mull over a declaration as and when.

Yes, they are better than us but it is not such a gulf. People base their opinions session by session.

Let's hope England bat sensibly and show a bit of flexibility in approach. Key question is whether Pope can bat.

Crawley is a funny guy. Off the face of the bat and he wasn’t going to walk unless the umpire gave it

The Crawley wicket was fortunate from a bad ball but that's a brilliant delivery by Starc, as was the Duckett one which got overturned.

England looking really tentative this innings. Great attacking spell so far from Starc.

Also this is classic England over the last few years, Joe Root coming out so early you would think he was an opener

That was a cracking delivery...but fecking hell. Stop being shite England!

One of the best sights in cricket - when a fast bowler has this kind of spell and swinging it around

Waqar Younis, Akhtar, Brett Lee…some of my favorite cricket memories.
