English cricket 2015 - NZ, The Ashes, Pak and SA

Need to get Warner soon. If he whacks it around for a while with the tail and gets them to even 120 odd lead it could be tricky.

You should get a job in the papers.

That Metro, I don't think there is one single headline I have seen in that paper that isn't a pathetic play on words. Why do they do that, I just don't get it?
It's written on the cheap for people who don't want something heavy on their commute in or who don't normally read papers.
Is shite but I am still bitter that they didn't put my pic of Maximo, the really fluffy hamster, in their rag as pet of they day. He just got put in their online gallery:(

I'm absolutely delighted for Finn.

Thought his treatment leading up to him being dropped was disgraceful.

Out of interest, what sort of lead would Australia need to make the chase tricky 100?

I hope Australia set a challenging target.

150 would be great but very optimistic that

Ashes 2015: England's James Anderson ruled out of fourth Test

A blow but not a terminal one. Finn has bowled very well in this Test, Broad has too without as much reward, and Wood will be good for the rest. If Australia bat again at Trent Bridge like they have in this Test then we won't need Anderson anyway! And regardless, he can't carry on forever so time we started preparing for life without him.

It doesn't put England out of it but I think it makes Australia favourites to retain the Ashes.

Wrap this up quick so I can go see my nan, please!

Terrible news. The media really overhype Jimmy at times, but he is without doubt our best bowler, and going into a test without him won't be pleasant at all.

He's also pretty much unplayable at Trent Bridge. That was the one match I was confident we'd win this series and he was the reason...

As a regular watcher of Derbyshire (in fact I've got the afternoon off today to go and watch the 50 over match vs. Northants!) I can thoroughly recommend Footitt.
His radar can be questionable at times, but in a 5 day match that barely matters. He will be pounding the ball down at 90, a bit like Mitchell Johnson. It would be interesting to see how they cope with him as he's different to the other options (left handed for a start). If he played for any other county he would have played Test cricket already.

Need a lead of 150 at least to have a realistic hope of winning this.

Think it probably matters what happens here, beyond the result. England will be less confident going in to the next test, sans Anderson. If Australia can make this hard work, that will help their cause.

Cook bowled by Starc for four. One solid partnership of 60-70 will ice the match

Lyon is on now. He was a good luck charm in the first innings, Clarke will badly need the same here.

Really wanted Lyth to get a 50. Glad to see Bell is getting some more runs, though.

Surely the end of Lyth now. But been a great performance from us.

Was just listening to Vaughan and he is right that "Wins save matches" and I suspect that will keep his place in the side, it's a shame as he's a very handy slip fielder.
