England v Australia - Fourth Ashes Test - Headingley

Bloody hell I get home, turn on the tele and see we've got you guys 6-72. I head off up to the local TAB to meet Melb. Red to watch the game, taking all of 20 minutes and suddenly we're in. I get home, after leaving at 1-80 odd and we've suddenly lost 3.

But by christ Ponting was looking amazing early, thought he'd surely ton-up after that onslaught. Fair play to the bowlers for getting back into the game.

And it's good to see Harminson hasn't changed a bit.

How did Hussey get out?

Was it a quality nut, a shit shot or both?

As Geoff Boycott would say, "My mother could bat against this England attack with a stick of rhubarb".

sadly I have to agree , some of our bowling has been just poor.
Anderson is back but his first ball was shocking.
Sounds very negitive ,but I hope the rain comes and we manage to scrape the draw, because the way it looks ,the Aussies look like making 300+ for there 1st innings,to be honest the came could be all over by Monday.

Nice bit of cheating from Michael Clarke - pointing halfway up his arm when it hit the wrist band of his glove.

Then a min later, flexing his wrist, where it hit.

not a bit od chearing ,a lot of cheating in my book.
If it really had hit his arm , he would not of carried on.
Where was the red mark if it had hit his arm, very bad on Clarke's part.

Cheating, whenever possible, has become part and parcel of the game. We armchair critics are ready to holler fair play and foul. But umpires get suckered at every turn.

North, boring cnut that he is, is having a fantastic start to his career. Solid.

This is embarrassing.

The Ashes are gone.

well not yet , but its close.
Australia win this and that looks likley then all they need is a draw to take them back home, were has we would need the win.

Looking at the first 90mins , Ponting wants to win this match and only bat one innings , the batters look set for a massive score,500+.
We are in for a hard Saturday afternoon in the sun.
If they get this ,then we would need 400 just to make them bat again.

In the 5th Test would would you do , keep them same time or change some faces , do we risk a 60% fit at most Flintoff playing on injections or do you just not play him.

fecking missed our chance at Edgebaston.

This is gutless.

Wasn't much of a chance, was it? Australia had a lead of 200 with 6 wickets in hand by the end of the match. If there was another day or more, Australia would well have as much chance of winning it as England.

It'd be funny if Pontin hits the winning runs in the second Aussie innings...will the Ingerland fans boo then?

Bopara needs to be dropped. I like him, but hes not a number 3. If hes made no runs in 4 matches, hes not going to score a big one when the pressure is really on. May as well bring in Trott.

Harmison should not have been picked for this match, the pitch does not suit him - the oval pitch will. Sidebottom should have been picked.

If Flintoff is fit for the Oval, i would drop Broad. A 60% Flintoff it better than Broad.

England have lost their 2 leaders - KP and Freddie - and its really showing now.

I agree with most of you, a 60% fit Flintoff ,yes it a better player than Broad , but what would be do it Freddie us unable to play after say the first 2 hours ,due to his knee.
We would be stuck with a sub on the field who cant bat or bowl.
I like Freddie and want him in the team all the time , but there comes a time when it does not make sence for the team to play him.
Not saying that is or will be the case, just a what if.

Harmison remembered how to bowl for a whole two overs just there.
