England v Australia - Fourth Ashes Test - Headingley

5 down, Aussies will bat for two days and get about 700 for 3 declared, then England all out for 55 and Bopara will get 2.

Seriously I was only joking....but, puting it all in perspective not far out!!
fecking Bopara couldn't even manage 2.

Why has he got his eyes closed??

How long before this is over? I'll give it 45minutes.

Guardian minute by minute:

"Given the crisis of batting resources, would it be worth at least shuffling the pack?" pleads Robin Hazlehurst, "Let Prior open and biff a bit - it's worked for Shane Watson - drop Cook to three to provide stability there and let Bopara/Bell/AN Other hide at six with a bit less pressure?" Yeah, and if we move that deckchair there over towards the stern a bit too, that would work pretty well wouldn't it? Oh, what's that? The ship is sinking? What do you mean the ship is sinking? Just hurry up with the deckchairs.

last 3 overs 50+ runs
Broad and Swann going after the bowling.

This session at the moment could be quite important for the next game as it looked like the Aussies were going to wrap it all up fairly quickly after they got Prior. Obviously England are going to lose, but at least there is a bit of fight being shown out there and the Aussie bowlers are getting extremely frustrated. Great entertainment.

Well how fking irritating is this - proving if only a couple of the higher order had hit a decent innings we'd be right in there

Fking pathetic from them

At least the lower order are showing a bit of bollocks

Bell Cook Bopara Collingwood - really they dont cut it at this level

Snicko showed there was a noise, and the bat was nowhere near the ground.

Thought it looked a bit dubious myself, actually thought the next shout looked a lot more 'out.'

England should be incredibly embarrassed by that performance. Nothing excuses them from losing a test match in less then 2 and a half days.

As for the Australians, the bowling today was piss poor.

Commentators couldn't stop fawning over Johnson. If I heard them correctly on SBS

Welll it's not SBS' commentators... it's Sky.

As for our bowling, it was shocking. It didn't really matter that much in the end, but they just seemed to stop caring.

feck Off!

You know it's lucky it isn't 2-1.

See you at the Oval.

Exactly, it's fecking lucky your lot dicked a draw in the first test otherwise it would've been 2-1. To us.

Third test was up in the air, rain or no.

As a human being, is there any point to Damien Martyn?

It pains me to ask that because he's been my favourite player (only to Mark Waugh). But he's fecking useless as a commentator.

I am incredibly embarrassed it was pathetic. There all talking about dropping this player that player the only player to me to take anything from this was Braod this test out for 61 a bowling score of 6-90. It will be intresting if Flintoff returns who do you drop.

You can take Cook and Collingwood off that list.

hows that then?

They have both scored runs in the series and they both have a long proven track record at test level. They both played around 50 tests and average over 40.

Neither are top level, world class or however you wish to put it, but there better than anyone of the alternatives.

Sorry any of them being brought back would be a step backwards, not up to the job.
To be honest I think we just need to replace Bophra and keep the rest ,they have done the job up till the last test.

There is a good case for Bell being dropped too. He may have too many mental demons when it comes to facing the Australians.

I think it may be Ramps and Trott brought in.

Trotts the next in line and Ramps knows the Oval pitch like the back of his hand.

I dont think the new batsmen would feel the pressure in the same way Bopara and Bell would. There is a huge step up in class though between County and Test.

Anderson it the worry for me - he needs to get fit.

Trott looks the part ,but I have grave doubts about Ramps , but he does know the Oval pitch and the selectors may see that has advantge to us.

The Ausies must be laughing at the thought of Key, Ramprakash or Trescothick returning.

I was when I heard there's been some sort of public push to get Ramprakash, at 40 (or however old), back into the side.

I think it is a mistake ,the bookmakers are convinced that he willbe recalled,Allan Lamb is on Sky now saying that ,Ramps will only play in this Test has a one off , He is not good enought and there are better and younger than him out there.
Maybe there is a case because he knows the Oval pitch ,but the Aussie's will not fear him , to be honest they will go into the Final Test , full of it and thinking that they will win with ease.

If Australia see that England have replaced someone with Ramprakash, I think they'll only feel more confident.
