England v Australia - Fourth Ashes Test - Headingley

My ideal team would be:
Trescothick, Strauss, Cook, Key, Collingwood, Prior, Flintoff, Broad, Swann, Harmison, Anderson.

Although if Flintoff is back, we have that fear factor within our bowling attack back, which means Onions could easily come in for Harmison.

It wont be Trescothick. I think they will go with Trott for Bell and drop Bopara to 6. Though Ramps wouldnt be a bad shout - he knows the Oval track better than anyone.

There are doubts over Anderson and Flintoffs fitness. If both break down, then your left with Harmison and Broad.

39. Only a year older than Langer who there was talk of coming in to replace Hughes.

Langer's a pundit now. And I certainly heard no talk of him returning for Hughes.

Though I suppose it would've made sense as we didn't actually bring another Opener with us in the squad.

I was when I heard there's been some sort of public push to get Ramprakash, at 40 (or however old), back into the side.

Ramprakash has had his chances over and over again.

Bopara has got to go. Rob Key has earned another chance at test level.

Selectors made a ricket by picking Harmison instead of Sidebottom. :nono:

I think Bopara and Bells confidence may be shot.

But to bring in another player from the counties that has not faces test quality bowling for years is a tough call.

Facing Australia’s top 4 or 5 bowlers is a huge step up from facing the mediocre bowling in the County Championship.

Hes actually captain of Somerset.

There were plenty of report about it a few weeks back which i believe stemmed from him saying he would fancy it....

Yeah I know he still plays County, I meant as far as International Cricket is concerned. I've seen him doing special comments on TV and heard him on the radio from time to time.

It's just like all the calls to bring Warne (or even Gilly) back - we've got to look forward, not backward. Otherwise I'd be out there spearheading a 'bring back Mark Waugh' campaign.

Mark Waugh - no way. Hes not even the best player in his family!!!

Sounds like Australia are going to make it easier for England by dropping Stu Clark for the 5th test...our retarded selectors may yet help England regain the ashes.

Could be a shrewd move, he bowled great in the first innings, but got a bit of a caning in the second innings.

Won't they bring back Bret Lee who must be ''chomping at the bit'' to have a got at us ''poms''. :nervous:

That may be so, but he was certainly the most talented and classy as feck. Lazy too.

Practically the polar opposite of Steve.
