Was out in the city centre today and saw a bit of right wing ‘protesting’ just the odd tramp yelling at minorities. It was nice to see a counter protest, I’d like to think people like that aren’t welcome in Manchester.
It's no longer about that. In fact it was probably never, at any point, about that. These people just needed a reason to get out there and destroy stuff. None of them could probably name any of the 3 girls that were murdered. You could see it in the videos when they were in rioting in Southport. They were laughing and drinking whilst lobbing bricks at the police and the nearby mosque.
It has now grown into a much broader complaint about brown people in England. I've noticed when asked direct questions about why they're out there destroying communities they stick to a script, they say they aren't against legal migrants, just illegal immigration. But when you then observe what is happening, any brown person that even remotely resembles a Muslim is a target. Doesn't matter that they've been in this country for 4 generations. They're a target. Mosques that have been serving communities for decades are targets.
So it's now morphed into one giant opportunistic lust for action, fun fecking shit up whilst enjoying the license to terrorise a minority group. That's really the best way I can sum it up. I don't think these people give a shit about the 3 little girls that were murdered.

I've read that one of the chants was "muslim paedos off our streets". If it's any comfort to the EDL and their ilk, I work in child protection and can confirm that the vast majority of child sex offenders I come across are white, nominally Christian if they have any affiliation, and British probably spanning back several generations. It is quite clear that the only people that a lot of idiots in this country view as "welcome here" are white people.
