England Cricket 2016/17 - Bangladesh, India & West Indies (ODI's only)

Early wicket  Another 2 or 3 before lunch, please!

Really like Hameed he reminds a bit of Dravid who is my absolute favourite batsman of all time. Also how great is it to have 4 guys of Asian heritage in the England team.

50 for Hameed, gotta be happy with these innings for your first test.

Genuine question, is there any point bringing Anderson back for the next test? Quite like the batting depth as it is and can't see the need for 3 seamers as all the pitches will either spin square or be flat as a road. Do we just rotate him and Broad to keep them fresh?

Hameed looks like he'll stick around for a while, Moeen has given a good account of himself and Ansari is a handy player.

Rashid has struggled in tests so far but bowled well in this test and is a fixture in the ODI and T20 squads.

Anderson imo will offer more as a bowler than Broad in India. Without Broad too the batting depth is quite strong. Anderson in theory should have better economy and will be more likely to take wicket as well. Won't be bad to rotate a bit too given there are 5 tests.

Ashwin really is under rated as a batsmen, really good all rounder. Vital knock today. Hope England can press on tomorrow but think it will be a draw. Also Mishra is not bowling well, will India drop him for next match?

Really like the look of Hameed. Looks like England have found their answer to their problems at the top of the order. At 19 he's only going to get better and better.
This test match, however, is going to peter put in a draw.

Been some rather shit ones over the years (Solanki, Bopara, Patel, Mahmood, Shahzad). No real standouts apart from Nasser and maybe Monty (didn't think he was anything special at the time but he was head and shoulders above the current dross).

They won't drop Broad for him though.

Bopara and Patel are very good first-class cricketers, as was Solanki, just didn't make the step up. Ali is a perfectly serviceable test cricketer, Rashid will at least be a fixture of the limited overs team and Hameed looks like a gem.

Hameed has hit more runs in his debut match than Australia managed in an entire innings

Jimmy is worth bringing back just for Kohli alone.

He's had his number every time they've faced it feels like.

Wont be anywhere near as effective in these conditions. Also Kohli's a different batsmen to the one we witnessed in that series.

Anyone staying up to watch Hameed's debut test century? :D

Rashid looks dangerous here.. its turning a mile. See if he makes the most of it.

Pujara should have referred there, pitched outside leg.

Ridiculous decision not to review.. especially with a leggie bowling, more often than not.. it is going to be pitching outside leg.

Vijay didn't look like he wanted to help in a decision to review.

I know it makes no difference to the review, but how the feck has he been adjudged to be playing a shot at that?
