England Cricket 2016/17 - Bangladesh, India & West Indies (ODI's only)

I said to my brother at the half way stage that England will probably chase this down. Man per man they probably have a more talented XI than India but the collapse is always around the corner it seems.

Mate have you ever watched the IPL? 202 is definitely a chaseable target, especially at Bangalore. That stadium probably has the most batting friendly pitch on the planet.

This is England we're talking about though  we tend to have this weird habit of getting worse as matches go on. I am so disappointed with our choking - again. Michael Vaughan says this is the most talented ODI team we've ever had, well I'm sorry but you need some steel to go with the talent. The bit of the match that typifies England is where we hit 3 sixes in one over then the following over went for 3, including a wide. Completely killed us, not that the last 7 scoring 0-6-2-0-0-0-0 helped! 8 wickets for 8 runs. A total embarrassment! I'm sure more horror stats are there if I leave Cricinfo open for long enough!

Chahal got 6 but full credit to Mishra (feat. Joe Root) for drying out the runs during that spell. England cracked under that pressure.

Fair play, England did a South Africa today. I mean I felt England won the toss so many times when you consider the Tests, ODIs and T20s but rarely ever capitalized.

England squad for 3 x ODI's in West Indies next month.

Eoin Morgan (Middlesex, captain), Moeen Ali (Worcestershire), Jonny Bairstow (Yorkshire), Jake Ball (Nottinghamshire), Sam Billings (Kent), Jos Buttler (Lancashire), Liam Dawson (Hampshire), Liam Plunkett (Yorkshire), Adil Rashid (Yorkshire), Joe Root (Yorkshire), Jason Roy (Surrey), Ben Stokes (Durham), Steven Finn (Middlesex), Chris Woakes (Warwickshire).

Main news from the tour just finished being that Finn replaces Willey who is out until April. Having seen both of them bat I don't see how that is a like for like replacement but hey ho! I think England travel there with something to prove after the India series and with the Champions Trophy later this year on home soil.
