Emre Can

On the contrary, he's very close. I fail to see what exactly makes Herrera a good footballer since all he did well this season was run around Hazard and make a fantastic Mourinho impression every time he mistimed a tackle and got booked.

If your players are so much better, why are you still behind us? Is it perhaps because you're all still equating the money spent with quality? Which one of your players is even good enough for Liverpool starting XI? Ibrahimovic, De Gea and Mkhitaryan are the only ones I can really think of, the rest may be more expensive than Liverpool players, but they certainly aren't better, otherwise you'd be in 3rd right now, not us.

You cannot keep equating price with quality, you're just enabling your bosses to keep overspending on players that fail to deliver, like Pogba.

EDIT: To answer your question, of why are you ahead. You have better quality in front of goal and play less matches.

He's still shit, always been, will be, a mediocre player. Most of Liverpool fans held the same view of him here too iirc.

That's all rubbish, implying that because you're slightly ahead of us in the league means that all your players are better than ours in every position suggests you don't know a massive amount about the sport. Herrera is a lot better than Can, some of your players are better than our equivalents of course, but we've actually won things in the last two years whilst playing a shed ton more matches than you.
If you can't see what makes Herrera a good footballer then you're watching him with your scouse tinted glasses I'm afraid.

Any time the Top 6 lose to anyone apart from each other is a bit of shock. Arse & Liverpool got a bit sloppy adhering to this rule in patches.

Sometimes there's very few losses of this type from the Top 6 for quite long spells of time.

How much this season has been especially special for that I'm not quite sure, but before LFC were dreadful in January there was about 5 in 75 games or something of that order. (just my remembering of the numbers, I wouldn't swear to total statistical accuracy)

6 are competing (2 are good) - 14 are not much cop, is the basic structure of the League.

edit - that was supposed to be half-replying to something or other but not quite sure what now,

Yet Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool United and City all have more points this season compared to last. So is this league actually getting stronger at the top not weaker?
I'd say you are too fixated on points. It isn't as simple as that, you can still have more points than last season and still be shit.

Surely if you've earned more points this season compared to last year, you've improved?

I didn't say the opposite. You can improve and still be average. An improvement was expected considering the managerial changes and the money involved, it has been so underwhelming though that it hardly matters

He's average indeed. Last night that was a top hit tho and currently he's on a purple patch has to be said.

He didn't say all our players are better than yours in every position as has stated that Ibrahimovic, De Gea and Mkhitaryan would improve our team and I agree with him, with the addition of Herrera, out of all your remaining players I genuinely wouldn't take any of them, Pogba maybe but not based on what I have seen this season although I accept he has got the potential to be world class.

As far as playing a shed more more matches as you put it, that's not true, last season you played 59 games, we played 63, this season yes you have played more games but not over the last 2 years you haven't.

1 great goal against a holiday-mode Watford and here comes the praises. He is just decent but nothing special.

the last one you want is Zlatan - that'd help the Gegenpress so much

DDG, Pogba, Bailly, Mkhitaryan, Mata, Rashford (for potential lets say) are the ones you should take

the ones one would 'like' coming this way were probably mentioned previously, I think even a fit Hendo might get into Utd MF too, a fit Studge in the land of make believe... Matip given the current situation

the rest are probably interchangeable give or take a bit of a bias

Agree with your Zlatan comment but tbh if its a choice out of a never fit Sturridge, IMO an average Origi or Zlatan, I think its a no brainer,

Bailly I would take, Mata wouldn't improve us at all I don't think and as far as Rashford is concerned TBH mate as a Liverpool fan i'm sick to the back teeth of potential.

hmm, yeah... I could see Mata filling the marmite role in this. I think he's clever & high class, but not for when game is fast, even-steven & highly competitive because of the pace & work rate & physicality stuff. Coutinho is better at the when to quickly move the ball on, to get it back later or picking when you get the fanny-merchant stuff out decisions thing, perhaps - but massively more dislikeable & smug.

MATA IN !!!

Some Italian paper saying we might be in for him on a free next summer. Doesn't look like the most reliable source but anyway, hypothetically would you take him?

Yeah I would take him.

And feck him off back to wherever he came from.

I really rate Can as a box to box midfielder. He is not a holding midfielder whatsoever though.

I have never really observed him properly during a game. Seems to be very inconsistent from what I've seen others post.

He doesn't really suit the b2b role in our system, but yours might suit him. I'd hate to lose him on a free to you guys.

I really don't think that'll happen, given our history.

I think he's got potential. He must doesn't seem to fit Liverpool but I'd take him. Appears to be one of those who has another level in him.

Basically a Herrera downgrade. No thanks.

Wouldn't mind him as a squad player tbh. Can fill in at RB too, also the meltdown would be epic both on here and RAWK.

Always liked him as a player, reminds me a lot of Khadera though that might just because he looks a bit like him and is German lol

He is a similar type of player. Just not equally good.

He makes an outrageous amount of simple mistakes (losing the ball in dangerous situations, not tracking runners, getting dragged out of position). He is a security risk without proper defensive cover.

Like a crap Fellaini. But smaller.
