I'm happy to. But it needs to co-ordinated and done properly. Last time there was one planned, I just didn't hear about it 'til the last minute.
Now, there's lost of chatter about "day trippers" not doing it, but I sit bang in the middle of the Stretford End, among loads of hardcore week-in, week-out fans, home & away, and there just doesn't seem the interest in it from them. I know I'm generalising based on a few louder ones who share their opinion, but I reckon if I walked out during the Liverpool game (as I hear the plan is, I probably need to check on socials) a lot around me just wouldn't. In some cases cos they're older blokes (Like 60+, I'm 50 btw!) & oddly enough they're not getting their news from Twitter & they just haven't heard about it.
That feels like it's the struggle for me, getting enough people to do it. Going in and leaving makes the most impact, or going in late. Both make a visual impact and an impact around the ground too. Forget all the "cancel your ticket" nonsense, that's usually from people who never go. There would be plenty to take your place, even now with the football as it is.
One thing I did notice at Brighton was the sheer amount of stewards. I've not see it like that ever I don't think. Obviously Liverpool games and stuff there's always been a lot of coppers, but this was the club with lines of extra security everywhere! They're clearly worried. Also makes me wonder about the new "attend at least 10 games or lose your ticket" rule, is that to discourage boycotts? Why else would they suddenly do this? It's not like empty seats has been a serious issue at OT, certainly not in the lower/better areas at the ground. (It did also occur to me that it might be that the football was crap! 10+ years ago they guaranteed usage of tickets by playing mostly good football & winning stuff! )
