Empty Old Trafford

But you do realise it is their money. MUFC is their business so it's their money.

The fans are the customers simple as that we might not like that but thats how it is.
Yes you are quite right it is their business but I am talking about their personal money that is separate from Man Utd.

I am sick of people calling Man Utd a business or justifying Glazers ownership.

You need to look beyond textbook crap. Man Utd is not a business, Its a football club that millions of people around the world associate with....Its personal....

I remember growing up as a kid in India in a small 2 bedroom unit and watching CL matches around 1-2am and anytime we score a goal, I would run around the two bedroom apartment shouting with excitement despite everyone in my house sleeping....

Waiting for the day my team will play again for the summer break

Fathers putting their kids on their shoulders and taking them to see their team play every weekend irrespective of how we play

Pubs filled with joy in Manchester seeing their team wins and singing.....

Its a religion for a lot of us, perhaps even more important....We have emotions attached to it...

I and I am sure majority of our fan base don't have emotional attachment to other business out there unless its their own or they work for it....

So stop this nonsense of this being a business, its NOT, for us, Its something very special!! And we have to do everything to take it back.....

Its a revolution against Glazers, and thats the only thing that will make them sell this precious asset..

Nobody's stooping you from boycotting. Buy a ST and don't attend. Milk it out and post it on tiktok.

It started with the man on the mirror.

Our fans are so fickle. If we won against Brighton, everyone would be happy and not even mentioning the owners, but we lose our first competitive game under a new manager, with tactics that will clearly take some time to come to fruition, and everything is doom and gloom and the owners are the worst. It is not the Glazers fault we lost against Brighton.

Yes the owners need to go, but coming out whinging about them when we have a bad result but being quiet when we have good results is not the way. It just makes us as fans look like petulant children.
Clueless

I have never heard something so idiotic in all my life. Do you really think that the Glazer's will care if people walk out of the stadium AFTER YOU HAVE BOUGHT TICKETS???? My god...you guys complain about the Glazer's not caring about football and then want to try and teach them a lesson by giving them your money. Pure idiocy....

Yup. We somehow need to appeal to Ratcliffe’s ego and get him on board.

Absolutely. The fans just need to know that he's interested. He will buy us. It needs to come from the horses mouth...or someone close to him. Then watch the pressure ramp up on the Glazers.

I got a ticket for this match earlier feeling proper chuffed without realising it was for the protest match…what a muppet. Genuinely in two minds about what to do now.

Would glazers care though? That’s what we need to think because my point is that it’s not hurting their pockets but it’s hurting our game’s result. And glazers don’t care about the results as long as they get money.
I believe it’s a protest worth making . We ie the supporters have to do some fffing thing! As far as results go I don’t give a F . We will struggle to finish in the top half this season regardless. ETH is a good manager but he’s not being backed that much is clear. As far as actual football goes I’ve already written off this season.
Sad to say.

What are you talking about ? The stadium will be full. Protest my arse

I like the idea of protesting but may be not the kind of protest that can hurt Erik ten Hag, especially it’s going to his first united vs Liverpool official match. I just don’t like to ruin it. Pretty sure Erik ten Hag would hope to see the fans to come and cheer the team vs Liverpool. May be we can find different kind of protest without hurting ten Hag?

I think that it’s a good idea in theory, but impossible to organise in practice. I find a lot of the protests and marches funny when they end in going into the match.

Old Trafford will always be packed, when we played against Brighton loads had the new shirt on as well, I doubt we’ll ever be rid of the glazers.

The best version is when Bayern fans went to their seats about 15 mins late in the first half during a game against Arsenal. Iirc they were protesting away ticket prices.

ETH is not the target of the protest clearly.
Protests have to be meaningful or they are pointless.

Ticket revenues alone don’t mean anything when it comes to even covering the first teams wages for the fortnight. The associated matchday revenue added to this would make for a considerable amount, so fans not attending does actually make a difference as that associated revenue doesn’t roll in. Add to that the damage to the brand and just the embarrassment (if they are capable of any shame) and I think that an empty OT would make a difference.

Season ticket holders have already paid for they ticket obviously but its upto them if they want to miss a few games for the greater good, I'm hoping even the ones who watch will take a banner,
Why old trafford isn't covered in Glazersout already is beyond me,
Only need a few people to start it off.
But I'm hoping old trafford for the Lfc game is only half full as it would be world wide news!
There is 50.000 thousand season ticket holders, if they decide to outside, they the majority

Remember this image? It had zero impact.

you cant take banners into the ground anymore, you can guess why

This protest would have a big impact globally because of the visual aspect it would have screened around the world (especially against Liverpool)

Any money lost would be marginal.

Won’t happen.

Only during the game when United are already 8-0 down

But it needs to happen. Badly. And worse. Rip the pitch up and get the match postponed

If you attend expecting not to have the p taken out of you by the players then frankly you deserve the hassle, cost and disappointment.

Its a win-win if we do this against Liverpool.
Makes the biggest statement yet vs the Glazers and you won't have to watch us get hammered against that lot.

Boycott all the games. Boycott buying all the jerseys. Boycott all of United's partners products. Stage constant protests. See how far the Glazers can carry on.

The feck you mean what am I talking about? Wasn’t exactly complicated mate. I got a ticket for this without realising it was the protest. Fairly simple concept:lol:

Ya so stay outside so with your merchandise and protest like the rest of the clowns ?

A consistent boycott this season and they’d be gone. They don’t think fans will do it and they’re probably right for numerous reasons.

Fans are now their biggest asset, that’s what they sell to sponsors now not success. World’s biggest fan base, social media traffic, fans buying products. An empty stadium week in week out and that’s all gone.

They can’t put own money in, can’t borrow more, they’ve got no competence, no plan and couldn’t survive such a boycott.

I would love to see the same sort of thing happen to when they last came to town.

For what it’s worth The 1958 have put out a statement on this. My interpretation was them saying it’s basically a hashtag and not a viable protest this time around. Would take more time to implement etc. So no need to feel massively guilty I suppose for going

https://the1958.net/2022/08/13/update-for-liverpool/

They also mention they will release their plans for protesting at this match early next week.
