Gaming Elder Scrolls Online | PS4 Guild on ESO:TU recruiting members (Aldmeri Dominion) - currently at 31

3.4gb down of the 15.8gb total

This wait is horrible!

I hate f2p with MMO's though, that's why most of them start out with Sub based models, because if they can get the subscribers it's far better for them. More money and better updates and expansions. That's why FFXIV is doing so good and why WoW has stayed so good.

f2p is usually the sign of a failed MMO, sadly.

I agree with you to some extent, although ESO is slightly different. The reason why MMO's have failed when going F2P is because they have limited their game to the F2P, and extended it to the P2P players. In most, you need to pay for in game abilities/items/areas etc.

ESO however, is different. The game is exactly the same, and the in game purchases that can be made give you no major advantage over F2P players. The items you can buy through the in game store for real money (crowns) consist of Mounts/Pets, Outfits (No stats), Consumables (health/stamina/magicka). You cannot buy better gear/abilities and these items cannot be traded in game.

They have stated that eventually there will be updates to the game such as new areas which will only be available via ESO Plus subscription, but this is further down the line and the game is already absolutely huge and so it doesn't give you the 'need' to purchase subscription or in game currency. Also, anything bought from the crown store cannot be traded or sold in game so the economy stays decent.

Reasons why some games have failed/are failing:

WoW (is failing, no matter what you say): Buyable character boosts to level 90 (£40). Group finder, nerfing of everything to make it too easy for new players and making early level areas completely irrelevant and empty. Boring, repetitive, grinding end game.

SWTOR (Star Wars: The Old Republic): Buyable in game items that can be sold in game, ruining economy. Poor and boring end game. F2P players cannot wear/wield epic items, cannot visit half the zones, cannot have user titles, cosmetics etc. Only available to paying members. This game is extremely limited to F2P.

I should clarify, I'm not saying MMO's fail when they go F2P, I'm saying it's because they've failed (as subscription) that they have to go to F2P. Any MMO that's gone from Sub to F2P has failed in its initial concept.

I see, yeah that's true and it's a shame really because the game itself is a great idea, but the initial release on PC was one of the most buggiest I've ever encountered.

Cool, remember to choose AD as the alliance if you want to play with us.

Have done so. Trying to think of a funny name now. As he's got huge ears I'm considering Gareth Bale but must be something better than that out there...

Ok, SkyrimJob has been created.

Wait no, invalid. Ffs!

All done. How do I join a guild?

I've got a bounty and no gold to pay for it, so the guards kill me every time

You need to find a hide-out or just wait until it runs down. I too had no respect for the law when I first started.

All I done was steal a drink on the ship. Now I've got a 12 coin bounty... Escaped to the outlaw area so just chilling there.

I tried picking a lock and got busted so I chose to leg it. Couldn't work out why no one would talk to me so I started killing them for their ignorance. Got up to around 350 on my head before I got it.

 Oh man

Watching the hobbit 5 armies, will be on around 1am

I've accepted it mate. The first dungeon is challenging but doable with a group of 4 level 10-12 I think. They're my favourite things to do haha.
We just did it tonight. First boss was absolutely exhausting but we managed the rest fairly easily. Stupid that you only get a handful of coins for each boss you beat though.

Great job @afrocentricity @freshibal @Brocky36

Nicely done lads! Coins become less of an issue later on - I'm level 31 and sitting on 40k at the minute! Also, it's the item's you want the most. I managed to get a very rare Sword drop today, Epic quality (purple). It's a shame I'm an archer on there . I'd love to do some dungeons with you guys soon :).

What should I be aiming to have done to mix it up on missions with you lot? Literally just completed my first mission so nowhere near as good as you all yet.

I'm a Templar/healer class btw.

At this stage, just do missions to rank up. Unless you specifically want to get into crafting/enchanting/alchemy then don't bother putting points into those areas, as we will have characters that can supply you with good gear and potions. @afrocentricity has a good healer. I'm sure he'll give you some advice on the build.

Perfect, thanks Brocky. I've just been going around doing random missions (just done the ones on the island where you have to free the bloke who the skeletons kidnapped, and the shipwrecked soldiers one). Hopefully I'll catch up sooner rather than later.

Yeah I've got about 4k now. Seeing the money going up a bit now, slowly but surely. Would you advise getting a horse when I get to 10k or forget about it?

Gotta say, that dungeon last night was great fun. I've missed mmo dungeons/raids...

Definitely mate. They're dead handy and also you can feed them every day (every 20 hours) to increase it's speed and stamina up to 60% higher than normal.

Cheers. On 6.5k now  Brocky mentioned something about training them so is that what the feeding is about? What happens if you forget?

Haha trust me, you'll have it in no time! Yeah basically you can feed it one of three things every 20 hours. Each different food will increase one of it's Speed, Stamina or Carrying Capacity (I think that is how much damage it can take before it knocks you off). If you miss a day it's not a problem, the horse doesn't starve or anything . I just put it all on Speed because it eventually hit's stupid pace.

To save me spamming your email can you list what traits you are looking for on which gear?
Errrrrrrrr.... without being logged in, i'm not really sure, but the obvious ones would be sharpened, defending and the one that enhances enchantments. Ones i'm not too bothered about at the moment are training, sturdy, well fitted and intricate. Just stick stuff like that in the guild bank, though. I can still deconstruct them to increase my skills and get the materials.
