Gaming Elder Scrolls Online | PS4 Guild on ESO:TU recruiting members (Aldmeri Dominion) - currently at 31

Played this to Veteran levels on the PC and thought it was great. Bought it for PS4 and I've noticed a host of improvements and bug fixes. Graphics are good too considering the scale of the game. Level 30 and enjoying it so far!

ah bugger, I saw you send an invite to the Dark Myst thing and as I was about to accept it I think it ended up rejecting
No worries. I'll send it again tonight. I'm not actually sure you can even join yet. I think you may need to wait until you're level 10.

How are you getting on? I was going to try and find you last night, but my in-game friends list wouldn't load, for some reason. Then I fell asleep halfway through creating my crafter/healer.

Any tips or advice you can offer to some newbies, mate? I just hit level 10 and have been playing solo. I think I can now enter Cyrodil, but I reckon we'll focus more on co-op raiding type stuff for the short-term.

Also, feel free to join the guild - Dark Myst - and add me on PSN - Brocky36

It's so hard to play this and not compare it to Skyrim. I know they are completely different games but I feels so lifeless in comparison. I guess hundreds of other players jumping around as they move in true MMORPG style was always going to break the immersion.

Using the term lifeless when comparing NPC to actual players is a bit weird, but I think I know what you mean :D

Do we have to be in the same alliance? It's all a bit confusing...

I think so

Getting to grips with it pretty easily. Just going through as many quests as possible. On level 7 and not met the boatswain yet as you said something about going around and seeing the vendors... I ended up picking up a lot of quests on the way. Trying to find iron ore is a pain

You can use your skill points to see iron ore better, it's up to you if you want to use a skill point though as they are few and far between.

See you in a few hours.

It is. You can join any guild, but can only group for activities - PvP or PvE - with people in the same faction.

You'll be fine doing the Boatswain mission now. It's just that it's easy to get carried away doing stuff once you get to that island and miss picking up the basics.

Finding resources is a pain and you can put a point into 'keen eye', but it seems a bit of a waste, especially if you plan to have a craft alt. It sounds a bit obvious, but look for ore & Jute close to rocks and wood near forests. Also, try to look outside of areas where there are lots of players.

Yeah I think my main issue is trying to find iron ore near built up areas, I'll look for places where there aren't many players.

And thanks! I'll do the Boatswain mission now then

Well what I've done is I make sure I complete absolutely everything in each zone. I want 100% completion as I like making all the logo's white on the map . I suggest going from left to right as you progress upwards of the map, completing everything from quests, world bosses, delves, dolmens and dungeons. Basically by doing this I've ensured that I'm always the right level (and sometimes one higher) to the level of the quests in the zones. I've noticed a level 19/20 in my 30 zone and they're obviously struggling.

I'm not experienced in PVP to give it a fair review to be honest mate, although I'd like to try it some time, and I'll definitely join the guild when I next come on - I'll add you :).

P.S. You may already know this, but every bookcase you see, search/read it. You'll level up so many of your skills this way. If you've got any other questions, feel free to ask! :).

Thanks.

I added you last night, but only just saw this post, so I'll send you a guild invite this evening. And yeah, I know about the bookcase thing.

Interesting about the expanding outward and completing everything as you go. I did notice last night that the further North we went, the harder it became. @Damien @freshibal @afrocentricity and I tried the first dungeon last night and got smashed. We were levels 6-10.

The PVP is good fun. I remember clambering round some place doing a quest (solo) before I went to bed and some fecker ambushed me. I was down to half health before I knew it but I must have gone into muscle-memory mode because I unleashed a combination of moves perfectly to kill the fecker.

To this day I have absolutely no idea how I did it.

feck I think I need to start playing this again.

Is this any good? I wanted to get this but I'm not convinced. It's probably pretty complex and requires significant amount of time to fully understand?

It's basically Skyrim online with a slightly different, and MMO style, combat mechanic - Tank, DPS, Healer etc.

Of course the MMO aspect means that the levelling system as well as elements of the gameplay such as crafting enchanting and the like are much more in depth. The size of the world is pretty overwhelming, also.

You can play the majority of the game solo, should you choose, but there is a big nudge to get you towards group play.

It's good so far. Not outstanding, but I feel that the scale of the game means that it will be a slow burner. Definitely good, though.

It's good but I have no idea what I'm doing and therefore can't really immerse myself in it entirely. I need to read about this game quite thoroughly I think. I don't know what armour to wear, what weapons to use, what the best magic is, how to level up quickly. I know nothing about enchanting I just do it. I have guild stones coming out of my arse and I have no clue what they are used for. It's not noob friendly in that respect but the playability side of it rather easy to get to grips with.

I'm a Breton/Sorcerer/Daggerfall.

I see you can level weapons up by doing spells on them or something but I don't know how this works or how it is done. My cluelessness is rather frustrating to be honest and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of info out there for a complete noob guide. I knew shagging women and getting pissed would come back to bite me, I should have invested my time in WoW and all that stuff instead :(

Feel free to add me - Brocky36 (mention The Caf') and join the guild. We're all newish, but most have played Skyrim before, so you'll be able to get info on the basics and have people to play with once you feel like doing group stuff. I am currently working on levelling a dedicated crafter and Afro is working on enchantment, I believe, so we can keep folks equipped with good gear whilst they're focusing on training the cool stuff like weapons and abilities. Currently there's Damien, Afro, Freshibal and I. Pani is joining tonight. He's a veteran, so will know most aspects of the game.

OK cool, I will be on Saturday evening next, I'll get an invite out. Thanks.

afro and I spent well over an hour on just one quest which required going to four places miles away from one another. We also got sidetracked a bit in a cave :D thanks for that afro

Thanks.

I've accepted it mate. The first dungeon is challenging but doable with a group of 4 level 10-12 I think. They're my favourite things to do haha.

Five in the PS4 guild (six with Mojo I think)

anyone else interested in joining, just post or send Brocky a message

Tempted to pick it up again (got it on PC) but with Batman coming out next week I fear it will be a waste of money. I might wait for Batman, complete that and then start this fresh in a couple of weeks.

Interested. Might get it on ps4 since my PC is a piece of crap.

We had a group of four with a 10, 8, 7 & 6, iirc. It was tough.

 That 'about me' line!

Anyone can join with any character, no matter the faction. However, you'll ideally need to have at least one character in Aldmeri Dominion (Wood Elf, High Elf or Khajiit) or you won't be able to group up with the others for activities. FYI, if you buy the Imperial Edition, you have the ability to choose any race in any faction, so you'll be able to still be in Aldmeri Dominion with whatever race you wish.

Once we have ten accounts in the guild, we will unlock the Guild Bank and Guild Store.

@freshibal - Tell Solid that I sent him an invite last night.

16gb update! Jesus. I'll be on as soon as this is finished hopefully (it says 7 hours...)

Well interested in joining any guilds, clans etc. Buzzing to play this, loved Skyrim.

I've got no idea about the game either @Mojo_. Been winging it. Never played MMOs like it so not versed up on Tanks, DPS and Healers, though I can gather what each refer to. On level 12 and not doing too badly given my lack of knowledge.

 That 'about me' line!

 Is it automatically generated by the game? Don't remember putting that, but I do know I jump from heights a fair bit as a shortcut as I don't use wayshrines that much. I remember seeing afros saying something about stoners.

Oh, it must be then. I thought it was something that you'd set. I'm wondering what mine is now. I'd imagine it's something to do with being a thieving bastard.

afro: "Resident Alchemist, Woodsmith, Enchanter and stoner..."
me: "Likes falling from heights..."

Can't see yours as you're offline

Great isn't it? and at no point do you feel obligated to pay cash... though I am jealous at Brocky having a horse instantly.
I hate f2p with MMO's though, that's why most of them start out with Sub based models, because if they can get the subscribers it's far better for them. More money and better updates and expansions. That's why FFXIV is doing so good and why WoW has stayed so good.

f2p is usually the sign of a failed MMO, sadly.

Nonsense.
