Gaming Elder Scrolls Online | PS4 Guild on ESO:TU recruiting members (Aldmeri Dominion) - currently at 31

Played it on release and thought it was ok but I couldn't justify paying a subscription. Now it's B2P I might give it another go.

Anyone have this yet? I'm tempted to go and get it.

Yep the patch took about 3 hours to download, I just got that going last night and went to bed. I haven't tried playing it yet but a few friends who got it for ps4 have said they can't play currently.

I have it but the 15.8gb patch is taking a fair while to download.
15.8??? Wow, I just put the game in and it looks like that is being installed first, guess I'll have to fire the Xbox up for tonight then

Is it any good? Worth getting for Xbox One? I'm a huge TES fan but have never played any MMORPGs before so how difficult is it?

I haven't played Skyrim or the other one I popped it on this morning for literally 5 minutes. Mechanics seem OK and I'm looking forward to what it may bring. My main decision into getting it was the 1-Unlimited players for MP. Should be a blast.

@Damien @afrocentricity @freshibal and anyone else that's interested.

I'm just starting looking into setting up a Caf' Guild. It's pretty complex but, from what I can tell, you need to have your character in the coresponding Faction. However, I am also reading that all your characters would be in the same Guild....which means that EVERY one of your (potentially eight) characters would have to be with the same faction. That seems quite restrictive. I'm at work, so can only research so much at the moment, so if anyone could confirm this, that'd be great.

My character is a Bosmer with Aldmeri Dominion. Fresh is also with that faction, I think.

Taken from the Wiki:-
Players can join a maximum of 5 guilds per account.
If an account makes a character from a different faction they can still chat in the guild and group up with players from the same faction as their character, but players will not receive the bonuses for any keeps or resources held if they are from a different faction than the guild's starting faction.
I may just be brain-farting because i'm at work, but i'm still unsure on how this works.

So, if I have four characters - two with Aldmeri and two with another faction - only the characters from Aldmeri Dominion will join the guild and the other two would be able to join a guild with their same faction...?

Good timing, mine has just finished downloading and I was about to ask what faction you were with. I've never played an ES game so this should be fun.

Not even Skyrim? That was my first Elder Scrolls and that was reletively overwhelming when compared with other games at the time. ESO is overwhelming compared to Skyrim.

You're in for a fun time!

From what I gather, you can join any guild (max. 5 guilds per account) and all your characters are part of that guild, no matter their faction. You can do pretty much anything within the guild, except group up for raids etc. That's faction specific, as far as I can tell.

Apparently, you need at least ten accounts in a guild before the guild bank becomes available.

Hmm....this might be tricky if we make it a Caf' exclusive thing...

What's the fastest way of levelling up? I've put about 20 hours in and am level 9, I spoke to a guy in work and he said he hit level 25 in a few hours!!! I'm clearly doing something wrong, or he's full of shit. I keep myself busy with missions all the time.

Can PC players play with console gamer's or is it not cross-platform? I can't remember if that's the case but if it is I'd be up for reinstalling and joining a caf guild.

No idea. I am probably around 15-20 hours in and am level 8, but I tend to explore quite a lot and get sidetracked from missions. I am trying to do a bit of everything at the moment, as far as character development is concerned, but I am starting to get the feeling that I would be better off having a dedicated crafting/enchanting/trading character and focusing my main on combat.

I have seen people talking in old threads talking about porting characters from PC to PS4, so I presume not.

Same here, I think I'm at lvl 9 right now. I'm a total noob at this game and it's my first in the series. I didn't know about factions and what not I just clicked x when my dude had a massive beard and long hair. Anyway, I'm a Breton, not sure which faction, I think it's the middle one when selecting initially as I didn't change it. I'm using a flame staff as my primary weapon, can you level weapons up or do you just get better ones as the game goes along? I'm also clueless on using my bonus things to level up magic etc. I saw on Skyrim you can use lightning and flames coming out of your hands but it doesn't appear to be the case in this game. Sorry for all the noob questions.

As a Breton, you'll be a different faction, but it seems that won't be too big an issue when it comes to teaming up with us, as I'd imagine you'll create other characters. You will pick up better weapons as you go and can craft them yourself, also. I have mainly put my points into the stuff that suits my play-style at first. I'm a stealth archer, so bow, stealth, medium armour etc. It's also worth putting a point on the soul trap skill, as it will level up even without using it and you will definitely need it later. Light armour and magicka is the way forward for you.

Cool that you can have eight characters. I'm on level 3 now and just done the tutorial thing and on the ship.
FYI, you can only delete a maximum of three characters, AFAIK.

My copy should come tomorrow, just looking at what character I'll roll....

Ok, so I have nailed it down. You can have cross-faction guilds but you cannot have cross-faction groups in PvP or PvE.

So, essentially, everyone will need to have a character in Aldmeri Dominion (Altmer, Bosmer or Khajiit) if they want to partake in group stuffs.

I'll be home in about an hour, so i'll have a look into the whole guild set-up thing.

What builds do you lot have (or are going for?)

I'll roll a character that compliments the group and I'll have Nightblade death dealing super saiyan dps bamf alt...

Unless you have room for one of those?

I used to love playing healer, major pressure during raids

Is there a decent little caf community starting on this? Still considering picking it up, even if I don't have loads of time to play at the moment.

Everyone on PS3?

Most are on PS4, I think.

Yeah I meant PS4. Not sure where the 3 came from!

I'll definitely look into it more then if there's a little group going.

I am an idiot. Was doing a quest on blacksmithing and ended up dismantling my best weapon at the time so now I'm stuck with one with nearly half the damage

Just created a guild. I decided to not have it named after the Caf' as we're ideally going to want more than just Caftards in.

I called it Dark Myst. I thought it sounded pretty cool and fitting, as it seems that quite a few folks have gone down the stealth archer / Nightblade path and it fits with Magi, also.

If anyone has friends that play, feel free to get them in. We need ten accounts to unlock the guild bank.

I'm in the process of creating a crafting character. I reckon I can max his crafting and still get a fairly decent healer spec on him as well. If anyone feels like doing something similar, we can be 'crafting buddies'. You get dramatically more XP from the deconstruction of someone else's gear than you do from gear you have made yourself, so the trick is to trade with someone like-for-like and deconstruct more efficiently.

ah bugger, I saw you send an invite to the Dark Myst thing and as I was about to accept it I think it ended up rejecting
