The most worrying thing about today is that we cant even offload Bebe to some championship outfit.

You should support a club that matches the high standards you set. One thing, before you ditch us, you should get better sources than the print media.

so you're not disappointed with the club this summer?

the fabregas stories were confirmed by the club. the herrera offer confirmed and rejected by bilbao. de rossi, granted, may have been bollocks.

Fabregas showed a willingness to move, we pursued it, he stayed. I would have liked him but I presume they did what they could.

We put in low bids for players we still might sign. Honestly I'm pretty neutral on the whole thing at the moment.

By saying he wants to stay at Barcelona?

What do you want explained exactly? The thrust of my post was that I am not getting my knickers is a twist over trying to sign Fabregas but not actually doing so.

I've read on Caf that Fabregas wanted move to United, that our bids were encouraged by agent etc., yet I don't see where does that come from?

From day one it was clear we don't stand chance in landing Fabregas, think it was just big weaste of time by Moyes and Woodwark, who, in my opinion, both showed naive and clueless when it comes to transfer dealings on this level.

We have great squad, but with Scholes gone, Fletcher being sick and Anderson being Anderson postion of CM was our only department that need strenghtening.

And Woodwark (alongside with Moyes) spent summer chasing player that didn't want to come here in the first place, really great.

Well obviously you know more that all the well paid staff at the club.

Are you calling him Woodwark on purpose?

Of course I don't.

I ask again where does this "he wanted move" stories come from, perhaps I've missed him or someone close to him saying he was interested in a move to United since I've never read anything like that?

No, I've read it wrong first time and he stayed WoodwarK instead of Woodward for me, that goes on the idiot part of my behavior

Just from commercial deal I'm sure we could buy a marquee signing

Half the European club chairman's hate him already...lets hope he doesn't frighten off Bilbao's chairman too.

He's been in this job a while now, and our transfer policy this summer is nothing short of bizarre. It's hardly a knee-jerk to judge him when there's less than 9 hours of the window left.

Yes but still, the final effect is what matters and it's near the end of the window but it's really good to see some activity from him and overall interest from the club, in this matter.

As I've said before, I'd guess Moyes didn't want to break the club record transfer fee for Fabregas or anybody else. He's been wheeling and dealing with small money for his entire career, making the best of limited resources; that's his comfort zone, and I suspect he was afraid to step out of it. Everything he's done so far, from transfer preferences to team selection, has screamed caution - like a little turtle, transplanted to new surroundings, peeping out of his shell.

I blamed Woody initially, but if the Glazers were willing to sanction big spending, why would he stand in Moyes way?

I think we were played by Cesc and his agent. He probably used us to gauge their interest in selling him and once he got reassurance that he'll be given more games, he came out and said he wanted to stay and win back the fans over to his side.

Seeing as Moyes has "The Tactician" next to his name, can a mod change this to "Edward Woodward - The Transfer Strategist"

That will help people know where to let off steam tonight rather than do it in every single thread.

Eddy are you ok, Eddy are you ok....we just wanna know are you hehe...

Posted on another thread, is there a possibility that he may get sacked after the way he has handled the transfers?
