That's the thing, though, it's not. Even if we do eventually end up with some much needed signings, we could have used them against Chelsea, and we could have used them against Liverpool. They could have had a good, long pre-season to gel with the team, and instead they're (probably maybe who knows?) coming in literally the last three hours of the two-month long transfer window.

Would I feel elated if we do manage to end up signing a couple of good players? Absolutely! That doesn't mean it hasn't been a travesty of a transfer window.
 
Has there ever been a Chief Executive in England talked about as much as EdWood? I don't know what he does but I genuinely hope he wraps up the Herrera deal and gets kidnapped as he leaves La liga HQ.
 
IF all this mess about getting the paperwork wrong, bidding 40mil at the last moment for Khedira etc is true, this guy should be sacked for being a lumbering idiot.

Shrewd move. If they kidnapped anyone else it would take ol' Ed so long to come up with the ransom money that they would just end up dumped in a lake somewhere.

And when he did come up with it they would probably realize he mistakenly swapped it with Monopoly money.
 
David Gill should have stayed till tomorrow before leaving, we wouldn't have been in this mess. These bumbling oafs had the whole summer to tie these deals but they didn't. What did we do to deserve this kind of treatment? Woodward left the Herrera deal till the 11th hour & now bureaucracy won't let us sign him?

This is creeping neurosis at work on the part of Woodward.
 
I was all for defending him at the start of the summer. But this is a fecking shambles. It's simply not acceptable. He must be completely incompetent.

I want him to make a proper apology on the United site tomorrow and offer to resign or go back to bringing in business, he was good at that.

If true, then he should be sacked, simple as that. It's his job to know this shit, or at least have capable advisors who make sure he doesn't stumble over details like this.

Don't get this - at most it will mean some extra payments due to VAT right? Only question is whether it puts the deal beyond our valuation. Yes it does make us look silly and incompetent if true, but it really depends on how desperately we need this player.
 
Unbelievable apparently he has missed some important paperwork and the deal won't be completed in time. This guys a fecking joke, making the club look like dicks
 
Sack this fecker. Been a disaster, don't even care that it's his first transfer window. You can't have any excuses when you're the chief executive of arguably the biggest football club in the world.
