Edinson Cavani - SIGNED for United

Same is with Cavani. 3 days before deadline. He must sign for someone isn't he? So in June with 5 clubs after him he can demand 300k. Now he must lower demands. Makes perfect sense to me to wait deadline with free players. With players who have club it is of course different situation. Depends what club wants deal more.
As a free agent he faces no deadline. If anything his negotiating position gets stronger after it.

What absolutely rancid signing. Big money and 2 year contract at 33.

We don't need a striker. We need a RW.

Just an attempt by Woodward to save face. Reading that bbc article now it's literally a write up of points United have sent them, 'United feel this' and 'United feel that'.
Good to see someone in here understanding what is really going on.

This isn't Manchester United. This is pathetic. 200k a week and 10 million in agent fees? Cavani's agent made fun of United a while back too, saying something along the lines of "If we only wanted money we'd sign for United or Chelsea".

This isn't fecking Manchester United. A fecking joke is what we are. What happened with our transfer strategy?

Rather use the money used for Canvani to get Telles, or the make up the difference to get the Sancho deal done. I honestly can't understand their reasoning, how can a bunch of grown ass men sit in a room and discuss this, and come to the conclusion that signing Cavani is our beat course of action? Incompetent fecks.

It's the other way around, we cross a lot but there's often no one in the box ready for them. If we get Telles as well then there's an interesting linkup.
who crosses now since Ashely Young left? Weve spent half a season scoring winning penalities

I wouldn't mind him here for a couple seasons. Certainly better than Ighalo.

Haven’t some of the stories in previous summers when we’ve been linked to him suggested that Ed is a big fan of his? I seem to remember that. Either way, it could work out, if he’s in good physical shape and his motivation is right. Dunno how likely those two things are, though.

Ok, first the good news.
1) 200K per week is not as bad as initially thought.
2) He is a hardworker and a team player
3) He is a real class striker

Now the bad news
1) He is is just shy of 34
2) He has recurring injuries the last few years.
3) How many crossers do we have in the team? Will this be Lukaku all over again?

Smacks of a panic deal. However, I felt that if the deal could be done for a reasonable fee, this might be a good deal. Right now, it is a little over the top. But I think this guy could do a better than average job to replace Ighalo and even be a starter. My impression of him at PSG has always been positive. Strong, confident, a team player and scores a bucket load of goals. Might prove to be a good teacher and influence on Greenwood and Rashford. And help transition to the both of them. And if we get Haaland later on as well, even better.

For now, please get Telles as well. Please.

Falcao was hard working and humble. Great intentions and a good moral compass don’t cut it for us right now.
Never seen Falcao as a hardworking player...

But yeah, lets just make it as Cavani and Falcao are the same person mate, they are both from south America !

Not every player is finished at 30 years old.

He can bring something to the team. I just hope it works for him here and he can prove he can provide something.

I guess it is better to have no one one the bench then a good 33 years old striker !

Manchester United see Cavani as a great opportunity?? Really? So signing a 33 year old who didn't really score that many last season and has been injured a few times too for 200k a week is a great opportunity?
What the hell is going on with us? Are we just signing random players who were big names at one point to appease the fans? I'm just so confused now as to what our goals are

In Ligue 1 for Paris it's poor yes

Genuinely don’t think you’ve made a decent post. You probably need to get out of whatever video game you’re playing and realise even in Ligue 1 with Paris, and in between injuries, that 30 goals
In 39 games isn’t poor. What do you expect? 50!?

We see him as a great opportunity even though he has been a free agent since July 1st. State of this club.

Why is everyone going about us not being able to cross the ball as if it’s the only way he can score? Are his feet off limits?

Agree to disagree then. I would expect 40 at least in that league for a number 9.

This is not gonna end well. Everyone knows that though. The Leeches have brought us to our absolute knees.
