Eden Hazard

Will do something amazing then go missing for weeks

World Class player and would walk into the Madrid team...however..

I would never pay anything over 80M for him but that has nothing to do with his quality on the pitch because he is worth over 100M or even exactly 100M based on his quality and talent alone.

The reason I would not pay that money if I am Madrid is because he will be 29 already by next season and though I don’t think that is old for a player he can’t get any better at this age and you will never be able to make a profit on him so you essentially payed over 100M for about 3 seasons of productivity.

I know some will use Ronaldo as an example to counter that but we are talking about a player in a whole other world compared to hazard.

He's 28, that's still pretty young for a footballer. He'll still be a good player at 32-33, the way a David Silva or Modric are, so I think you can get 5 strong years out of him fairly easily. I think £100m for a player of his quality, as the main man in a CL team like Chelsea, is a pretty good deal. Who else can you get for that nowadays? Pulisic went for £60m and he's not even half the player.

With one caveat though, I think he's better for a team like United that needs creativity, than one like Madrid, which has creativity but needs goals.

His consistency isn't great but on his day he's the best in the league imo. I've always said it as well. Having said that he will probably move this summer and then we will see what he is capable of

Incredible today, what a player.

Need a player like Herrera to man mark him.

And to think some people believe Sterling is better than him ... He'd win POTY every year if he was playing for Pep's City

Yeah, it's funny because I think he'd consistently be in the top 3-5 in the world if he played for one of the truly top teams. Hampered himself in terms of recognition because he's played for shit attacking sides.

Single-handedly dragging Chelsea to 3rd.

Like I said incredible player and worth the money talent wise but you won’t get the money back for him.

Am I the only person who thinks the West Ham defence was very soft for that first one? Still a brilliant goal

Despite his inconsistency
chelsea 57 goals scored
hazard 16 goals scored and 12 assists
50% of chelsea goals this season came from hazard.
they cannot win a league with just one match winner.

Not signing him was one of SAF's biggest blunder, imagine having him in our team right now. I lost count how many times he saved Chelsea all by himself since he joined.

Whatever happened there? I remember when he was still at Lille he went on TV saying it was between the two Manchester teams. He definitely deserves to shine in a more offensive team and competing for the biggest trophies, but he's not someone I would count on to be THE leading man to get there.

I thought that Fergie didn't want to spend extra 8 million for agent fee and Chelsea won the CL that year are the main factor he ended up there.

Miles more talented than Sterling but isn’t consistent and doesn’t really seem that bothered about performing every week. If he had the drive of a top player he’d be the second best footballer in the world.

He's a player we severely lack right now among others. Match winner, player who can change a course of the game all on his own.

Easily the most talented player in the Premier League.

No disrespect to Chelsea, but I have thought for a while that he has basically outgrown them, and needs that big move to Real Madrid to happen so that he can further his career. Also he has spent 7 seasons there which is a long time in modern day football.

He enjoys playing football, and most probably lacks ambition and drive to be the absolute best, knowing fully well that he already belongs to the top tier. Yes, sometimes it's incredibly frustrating as a supporter, but I can respect his way of looking at the game, playing for fun, and not trying to prove every single second that he's THE BEST player. The game needs these characters also.

Also, people go way overboard on this inconsistency thing. Apart from one season, he has mostly played consistently good, as shown by his inclusion in the EPL TOTY 4 times in 6 seasons, and most probably 5 in 7, including this year.

Delighted with his performance last night.

Do not understand the criticism here. He has been a top, top player for Chelsea for the last 7 years. He has been the key player for us in the era after Terry, Cech, Drogba, Lampard.

The criticism came from that he had the potential to do so much more. He should have left Chelsea years ago when Madrid had a prime Ronaldo for him to play with

I think it's a bit similar with Martial, sometimes he seems a bit too laid back, and happy to just play at a slow pace.

When he "turns up" and really goes at people, he's unstoppable. The speed/power/balance he has you just can't do anything but foul him.

We don't see that regularly from Hazard which is what bugs people sometimes, but I think that's common with players that are explosive.

Tactically Mourinho wasted him by asking him to always chase back, Conte/Sarri have been smarter by letting him cheat, which keeps him fresh the other end.

It's all hypothetical how he would have peformed in Real with a prime Ronaldo. Robben went to Real from Cheslea and he wasn't exactly successful.

Also, all top players need not play for only Real, Barca, Bayern and Juve.

Hazard is already an EPL legend, and has enough time to establish himself in La Liga as well. He also has a stellar career in NT level.
