Ed Woodward 2019 - Until all Arctic ice melts edition

Him and the Glazers are. Ole is bound to fail and it will just moving on like that
I would hate to see Ole fail due to not being a good enough platform by Woody to succeed from. If this happens I believe Woody would make Ole the capegoat. I realise we are in a rebuild and it will take more than one window but 2 signings to me is pathetic to kick off a rebuild. We are at risk of falling further nehind our rivals due to Woody's reluctance to release the funds for the players we need:mad:

Not your English, I was backing up your claim.

Aye, cheers.

He bought 3 and gave the others new contracts at the managers request he didn't do off his own back.

People keep saying he doesn't spend money or back his managers

700 million and the highest wage bill proves that wrong.

700 mil in how many years again? Nobody knows if extending with shite like Rojo and Jones is 'managers request' though or if it's him being tight ass.

Facts are he brought in three (four if you push Blind into CB category) central defenders in 6, now 7th starting years. It's not a lot especially given that two of those turned out to be absolute crocks (neither his nor the managers' fault that).

Really couldn't be arsed addressing half the nonsense I was tagged in the last week but by god did I absolutely fall outta the bed this morning seeing Real Madrid getting smashed 7-3 by Athletico.

The same Real Madrid that all the anti Glazers caftards have praised for their quick fixing for having a poor season!

"But its only pre season" will be the obvious reply, I'm very confident ZZ will be gone by Christmas after an absolute disaster.

Yes we've spent some money. Not enough. This started in 2009. Let's look at how much we've spent compared with our revenue. Net spend is nonsense and it's only high because Woodward can't sell because he's got so many useless players on crazy contracts. We continue to spend about 15% of revenues at the most on transfers. Teams like City and Liverpool spend 50 to 60%. What's the benefit of being the wealthiest team in the world if we don't outspend even smaller rivals like these teams?

I fail to believe that there will not be at least another 2 signings - Woody didnt go on the tour this year to stay behind and oversee transfer activity.......

Who is doing that activity remains to be seen but I just dont believe that we could get to the end of the window without adding more and possibly moving out some.....

Surely a lot of negotiations have been taking place - a lot of these transfers are about the other team lining up their replacements etc as well before the button is pressed.....

However, it’s very frustrating as a supporter as it looks like nothing is happening - especially as we are linked and used in most transfer sagas so appears we don’t have a definitive target(s)

I for one fail to believe that we can’t sign the players we really need as discussions must have been going on for some time - surely now we are back from tour we can get these over the line and have Ole and the player photographed at OT all smiles and the Caf in meltdown!

So far it has always been the manager under him. We dont support our manager enough and we dont have a proper and professional set up. 99 percent of the managers would fail at United currently imo. We did not sign enough quality players despite it being obvious and neither did we sell the shitty ones to clean up. Business as usual with them taking money out of the club

We will possibly drag the Maguire saga out till the very end, and announce DeGea resigning to cover their arses

I agree with the first point in bold. I would have thought Woody would have learnt from this all the time but it seems that he hasn't. I agree we didn't sign enough quality players but we have have 2 weeks for Woody to something special, which I don't think he is capable of doing. I think we are going to find it hard to sell players due to the stupidly high wages we pay them which other clubs won't pay if they the got sold. Agree with the last point in bold completely, as they seem are concerned with making money than results on the pitch. Which is terrible in my opinion.

Will the fans finally have the balls to protest against these clowns during games?

At this point, I'd rather have Woody Woodpecker in charge instead of these cnuts.

Do you think that would have much of an impact as the Glazer's seem to plain just not give a feck?
I was saying it in general, not just aiming at our board - they are all connected, the tone and direction of the club is set by the owners so you are correct, they don't give a feck because we are doing well financially.

If we interrupted tv coverage with a walkout it might. I suggest walking out at the 58th minute of each Old Trafford match if you are doing a walkout, to honour the Munich team and those who died for United. As well as guys like Harry Gregg who went back into a burning plane to save his fellow players. Not that the owners would have a clue. But it would be a good start.

Seriously like, what is this man doing? Has he lost the plot completely ? Does he really think James & AWB is a successful window for us?

What does this even mean? Its not even coherent.
We have invested 600m in players since 2015.
We had the largest wage bill in the PL last year even before signing up Rashford to a new contract; and most likely De Gea when we return from tour.
We had a 50 percent wage/turnover last season and its going to be more this season. If we do get Maguire and Fernandes in our wage/turnover ratio will be over the hill tbf.
I have no problem discussing how we spend our money, but that we are spending less than Liverpool or even City is such BS that it hurts reading posts like this.

By all means a walk out would be good but no need to associate the Munich Air disaster with it.

It's unreal it's like talking to Trump supporters . They just can't accept real facts

In the last couple of years there has been a noticeable decrease in our transfer activities. We got Rooney, Blind, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Zlatan, Depay, Mkhitaryan, Fellaini, Valencia and Herrera out in the last 2 seasons and have only brought in Lukaku, Matic, Sanchez , Fred, Dalot, AWB and James.

That is very little money spent and considering wages is even less. For a club of our size that is not good enough at a time when we need vast improvement.

Arsenal has half of the payroll that we have so thats just not true.
How does that matter? Both teams need to improve their squad drastically and as of now, Arsenal seem to be caring more about that. Plus it's the boards fault we have so many deadwood players on exorbitant wages. No wonder they can't get rid of them.

I have no clue what needs to be done, although I know something needs to be dome as the way they run this our club shouldn't be allowed to continue the way it does.

Transfer fees are not money spent. Its an investment. A player is an asset.
Wages are money spent.
Our current wage bill is why (if we are) reluctant in the transfer market because we have the largest wage bill in the PL.
Its not rocket science.

I think the owners are actively looking to sell which explains the lack of investment, they aren’t going to plough money into a product they are trying to sell.

I understand. I agree that these cnuts running the club are only in it for the money and this angers me:annoyed:. I wish they would give a sh!te what happens on the pitch but they seem to not care at all and this hurts:(

Do you even know who sits on the United BOD?
If you dont, I can inform you that its like 6 Glazers and 3 independents (guess because of us being listed on NYSE). Plus Woodward.
Do you really think that our "board" has anything to do with footballing decisions?

We got loads of wages off our books in those transfers out and have not done enough to rebuild the squad, that was my point.

The glazers have pulled the plug on improving the playing squad.

Haha! 600m since 2015? On what planet? This is nonsense. How can you argue actual facts? We've spent maybe 400m in that time. And that's being generous. And our wages to turnover is the second lowest in the league behind Arsenal. How would two more players take us over the hill? We could afford to pay Maguire 5 million a week and still not have the highest wage to turnover in the league.

Looks that way now. Minimum investment this season. They will be praying we somehow scrape top 4 or win Europa. Shocking

Not true.
They are "putting money" in by increasing our wage budget.
If the Glazers would be looking to sell in the near future they would do what Levy does with Spurs, keep the wage budget down to improve EBITDA. Spurs will be sold within 3 years IMO.
If anything what the Glazers are doing indicates that they will be holding on to United for the foreseeable future. Like it or not.

Okay, to which ever 'committee' that decides players contracts, they've done a terrible job.

There is no point rambling about wages, when we have one of the smallest wage-turnover ratio in PL. It's a complete moot point as to why we are not spending this summer.

You seriously thing that we have a lower wage/turnover ratio than Spurs? Or Newcastle? Or like any other club in the league except City or Liverpool (who we will surpass next year because of their prize money).
When it comes to what we have invested in players its an easily accessable fact. Google is your friend.

It puts football and success 2nd and we will just not be a top club

Sorry, but thats just blatantly untrue today.

Ed on the Q3 earnings call held in May

'We continually look to improve staff on and off the pitch to achieve this. The strength of our business means the other financial resources to continue to provide the solid foundation for backing the manager and creating success on the pitch, this as ever remains our number one goal.'

Lying motherf8ker

I'm no expert but how is this half?

Because thats old numbers and we are prob at 325m by now. And the Arsenal has got rid of Ramsey and are getting rid of Koscielny.
But sure, I probably overexaggerated a bid. Say that the Arse is on 60 percent of us then.
That was not the point though.

Another week ends and another week closer to transfer deadline day.

Since then United have got rid of a crazy number of high earners. Fellaini, Valencia, Herrera, etc. And even that shows we are at 50% far lower than even Newcastle who spend nothing. If this doesn't show you we need to up our spending I don't know what will. My main point was we have one of the lowest wages to turnovers in the league and the data proves it. You still haven't even shown me how we spent 600m on transfers since 2015.
