Makes more sense than buying Sanchez. More the type of player we go for, not that expensive, not really established yet but clearly talented.

He looks to have come on leaps and bounds with Shakatar, can play on the left as with Gremio or right as with Shakatar.

Last time I saw them I was more impressed by some chap called Willian (?) or something. But I say highlights so ignore me.

Not that expensive? Id be astounded if we werent looking at 15-20 million.

Which is what we bought a very raw and unproven Cristiano Ronaldo for. Or Nani. Or Anderson, who had played about 10 professional matches in his life at that time.

Obviously, we do not think it's an absurd price for young and talented players who will still need guidance to make that extra step.

Sanchez is now established, hyped about and will cost an arm and a leg. Not for us. Anymore.

This guy has done alot of good for Shaktar since his move there and has performed for them in the league and the Champions league. Just a few highlights of him strutting his stuff:

Would be amusing if Shakhtar hadn't given us permission to talk to Douglas. Would be the most obvious tapping up since Real and Ronaldo.

Honestly, it wouldnt make a lot of sense for Shakatar to sell him for less than say £25 million. Gremio, as they have done with a lot of other players, inserted a clause in his contract that they'd get a good share of any transfer fee. So it'd take that sort of big fee to see them get a decent figure out of any deal.

So is he the player Fergie was referring to when he said we tried to get someone in January? Could understand Shaktar not wanting to sell with their CL campaign still on.

Of all the players linked to us.He is the one i would want to see at OT.

Naaaahh, just a player enjoying watching a decent game of footy.

No offense but Manchester in March isn't the greatest day out. He could have just watched us on t.v plus it was against Bolton not a top 4 side. I think deals might be going on behind closed doors.

Its weird United would seat him in the directors box for a match with the whole world watching considering no deals been done. Strange indeed.

Hernandez was done in April....wonder if this is something similar on the cards.

Isn't he more of a second striker/Attacking midfielder than a winger?

Played the same role as Anderson at Gremio. An "attacking midfielder" in Brazil tends to mean someone playing just inside a wing role, like Ronaldinho at Barcelona for example. Regardless, he scored on his debut for Gremio and then did literally nothing for them. He did get injured but even after he came back.

At Shakatar, where he's coming good, he's a right winger like Di Maria for Madrid. Comes inside from the right

Could be Ando's guest as they were both at Gremio although don't know why Ando would invite him, if he isn't even playing in that match.

Ah ok. So definitely another option for the wing positions.

I have no clue how good this guy is since I've not seen him play at all.

I still don't get why you were so against him before though! just over what your Brazilian friend/contact told you!

Well he didnt look that great at Gremio - less goals and assists than Anderson... Yeah really.

But at Shakatar he looks to have really matured and put it together. Still not a world beater yet, but he does have that bit of special quality and perhaps he's getting there. Dont think he's been capped by Brazil yet

What can those who watch him regularly tell us about him?

Could it be we allowed the deal to happen with Shaktar with a view to him coming to us in the summer regardless? If I remember rightly we were getting led a merry dance for the price initially?

Because he did f all for Gremio.

He's done a lot for Shakatar from what I've seen. And whats more telling than me being against him signing for us, or someone signing him for the £20 million Gremio wanted, is the fact that another good european club didnt come in for him.

Now that he's actually doing something I'd love to have him
