Both the Premier League website and United's website crediting him with the second (at the moment anyway), so it appears for now that he's on 14 goals in all comps this season.

There was a shot behind the goal where it looked like it was curling on target in that case i think he will get it

Berba 13, Tevez 12, Carrol 11.

Going to be tight for the Golden Boot!

He really was outstanding. Maybe a settled team really was all he was looking for until the Blackburn game...

he was a joy to watch today....

and Fergie looked satisfied with his performance (and that of Anderson). Berb and Anderson before the start of the season were regarded as Fergie's biggest flops but now it seems that the old fox is proving once again that he was right.

Don't forget he owes us 20 goals from the last 2 seasons...really glad he seems to have finally shruged off the 30M from his shoulders...

And he has equalled his biggest tally for us which was from his first season (14 goals). If that 2nd goal was credited to him today, then he's on 14 goals already.

I definitely think he'll get 20 goals, but to get 25-30 would be amazing.

He's really beginning to look like the player we thought we'd bought from Spurs. If he can put in these perfomances week-in-week-out we'll get our trophy back no problem!

Not seen the game today yet but I'm delighted he's banging them in now. Can't argue with his tally so far this season, it's not been high enough the two seasons he's spent here already, but having beaten last seasons total before 2011 even kicks in, that's a much improved effort

Two things he still has to do for me. One is do this consistantly, and the second is to do it when it really matters during the run in. I don't see any reason why he can't do both, time will tell

Some response to getting dropped it seems, Fergie's tack previously was to play him regardless, the change has done the trick maybe?

The discussion and this thread is not about Carrick, neither was the video.

What the feck are you wittering on about? This forum doesn't work like that.

Debate is supposed to breed further debate. This place would be shite if we only talked about the exact specifics of the thread title.

Only you could turn an amazing piece of skill from Berbatov on a Berbatov discussion thread into your own personal Michael Carrick wankathon.

Seriously, issues.

Carrick's pass > Berbatov's skill :smirk:

not really.. i just want to irritate you

He's been basically producing that sort of performance throughout the season...

So how is he only "starting to"...?

You'd mostly expect a £30 million player to do it week after week, rather than a great streak, followed by a poor streak, followed by a great streak. Or lots of goals, no goals, then lots of goals. Thats what you'd like to be buying for this kind of money, a consistant performer you can rely on.

No doubt that we can pick out singular matches this season, or groups of a few games at a time, where he looked a big money player. But rather than a couple of games on the bounce, we should be hoping for half a season or a full one.

We've got another £30m "streaky scorer" in the squad as well. Wayne Rooney.

Will anybody ever stop talking about his transfer fee and judge him on his play? Brilliant today, as he has been for a while.

When others talk about him showing himself to be a £30 million player, no that will never go without a response of some kind.

He's quite good at this football thingy.

Him and Fergie giggling like schoolgirls when he came off made my balls tingle.
