That doesn't really answer my point though.

It's always claimed that United boast the most up to date technology when assessing players fitness. So how did they miss the fact that something as simple as 'going for a 6 mile run every day' would radically improve Berbatov?

I'm pretty sure they'd have known all along.

But not every player is going to go the extra mile, or 6 as the case may be, and do everything thats suggested to him.

You only need the code from the end of the URL. The one for that video is hnr3xRMdsuI so you just put that between the Youtube tags :)

Oh, and don't put it in the PHP code tag. I just used that so I could show you the code to use without the video showing up in my post :p

Cheers mate! Finally figured it out. A bit slow but got the result in the end.

A little something I put together. Nowhere near finished yet, but another couple of hours later on should do it.

Berbagoal's my captain this week. I'm the top caf fantasy footballer: 759th in the whole world; so that's a damn good omen for the bloke... double hattrick, you heard it here first!

feck sake Cider - dont bloody jinx him :nervous:

I am proud to say I had him in my team since the start of the season - not like all these bandwagon jumpers who slagged him off last year and are transfering him in now !

I hope you're right, he's my captain too and I need the points.

Can't wait to see his performance tomorrow - betting he has a really good game, his confidence will be at an all time high.

Me too :)

Mind you I haven't checked the team since the first week of games. Do the same thing every year: register a team and just ignore it

FYI I have Hernandez on the bench. Might work for me later in the season:)

MANCHESTER UNITED'S DIMITAR BERBATOV TIPPED FOR BALLON D'OR

26th September 2010 By David Hyde
DIMITAR BERBATOV was last night tipped to win the Ballon d’Or – the award for the world’s best player.

The Manchester United striker, who scored a stunning hat-trick against Liverpool last weekend, was hailed by Brazil star Lucio, his former Bayer Leverkusen team-mate.

And Samba skipper Lucio insisted that £30.75million Bulgarian hitman Berbatov was the equal of world superstars Kaka, Wesley Sneijder and Ronaldinho.

Lucio, who won the Treble with Inter Milan last season, said: “With the natural ability that guy has with a football we could be talking about him being the world player of the year this season.

“I’ve played with Kaka, Ronaldinho, Wesley Sneijder – and Berbatov is as naturally gifted as any of them.

“It took him time to adjust at Manchester United but, once he did, I was always confident he would hit this sort of form.

“I think we have just started to see the best from him. He is now entering his peak years and I am sure he will get better and better with every game this season.”

If Berbatov, 29, did win the award, he would be the first Bulgarian winner since Hristo Stoichkov in 1994 – and the fifth United winner after Denis Law (1964), Bobby Charlton (1966), George Best (1968) and Cristiano Ronaldo (2008).

Lucio said: “People are aware of the great poverty that players grow up with in South America and Africa.

“But people seem to forget there are poor parts of Europe where people don’t have anything.

“Berbatov told us that he was so poor as a kid in Bulgaria that he grew up playing football with a basketball he found in a skip. But you would never guess it when you see how good his first touch is.

“Every summer he goes home and sleeps on his mother’s couch back in Bulgaria.

“He is not interested in holidaying in Miami or Monaco – he just wants to go home to his mother.

He was always so excited when he scored a goal because he knew his mother would text him and he couldn’t wait to rush back into the dressing room and see it.

“I know that is still the case now.

“He has said he owes everything to his mother.

“The most important thing to him even more important than football is the work he does with orphans back in Bulgaria.

“He has said to me he can’t believe there are still children growing up there who don’t have anything on their feet.

“His goal is to make sure every homeless orphan in Bulgaria is clothed and fed.

“He will do it. He really is one in a million.”

Good read. High praise from Lucio, hopefully Berba continues this form all season.

Wow! Now that is the kind of player we want at United. Not a certain argentinian twat.

The more and more we learn about Berba, the more I like him

As far as the players mentioned in the articles, they are more showy. But anyone who understands football, sees the talent Berba has. Effective, sublime, incredible, one in a million
Hope Berba gets BALLON D'OR one day. Why not. I'm sure many would vote for him. Just stay away from injuries Berba

World Player of the Year is very premature. He certainly has the talent to do it, but he needs to do it for us consistently and do it for us in the Champions League, a competition he has barely featured for us in.

A nice interview nonetheless though.

Of course it is premature. But he's got the talent for it. I think that's the point. Though, nowhere there did Lucio mention player of the year
If Berba gets his goal and sustain form through the year, we may see him up there as a contender

If he keeps up the scoring and contribution rate, he sure can be World Player of the year.

Frankly, when I think of many here, me included who wanted him out last season and the player we see now and thinking of him being the best in England, Europe and even the World, it truly is a testament to the player's own character and Sir Alex's ability to bring the best out of players...just think of Nani too.

Sorry to go off about Sir Alex....the man just gets better and better at this..

I still reckon it's the best goal he's ever scored for us. How he managed to turn his body to get that shot off is nothing short of astounding.

I don't know whether it is his best goal for us but it is a truly wonderful goal. Unfortunately, it was scored by "Berbaflop", so it went unnoticed by pundits, fans etc. Had that goal been scored by Drogba or Torres, it would have been a contender for one of the best goals of last season. That goal has everything: world-class imagination, world-class touch, world-class finish.

Lucio is not the first to compare Berba to the best players technically wise. I remember Drogba (!) saying that Berba's technique is up there with Ronaldinho's and Zidane's. That was before the CC final between Spurs and Chelsea (2:1), IIRC.

However, potential is one thing, realisation is quite another. I hope Berba will play at his best for many games and will have even better games than the one vs Liverpool. He has a long way to go to be compared (in terms of achievments, and not only ability) to other great players.

Until a month ago people were saying that he wasn't fit for the club, and now suddenly he is tipped to not only be nominated for but to win the Ballon D'or. Crazy.

Before Sunday, he hadn't totally justified his transfer fee.

Hardly crazy. Every performance is analysed and criticised. He seems a different player this season, so opinions will differ from before.

Has he now 'totally justified his transfer fee'? I certainly wouldn't go that far yet. In the same way you shouldn't judge a player as shit for having a bad 6 months, you shouldn't judge a player as being amazing for having a good first month of the season.

TBF, Lucio does not post on RedCafe.

His technique isn't far off from the two in terms of improvisational/technical creativity. Looks like he may be a late bloomer and have a solid year this season. 30-35 goals wouldn't surprise me in the least.
