Dimitar Berbatov | 2010/11 Performances

6 premier league goals, he's scored half his tally of 12 from last season already in 5 games.

I think this is the big question. And fair or not, this is how he will be deemed. Personally I think he still needs a big performance in this type of game (not just once) before we can fully accept that he will have become successful Utd player. It doesn’t even need to be a stunning 90 mins. But just a game changing moment, be it an assist or goal. Tomorrow will be a fantastic start to this. I hope he does

I only wanted one great moment today. We have been spoilt

Hat-trick against the scousers. Doesn't get any better than that.

2 headers as well. Very happy with that. Even happier with that than the overhead kick, cause the overhead kicks we all know he can do, while the headers haven't been frequent enough.

Always just talk with you isn't it Berbatov? another abject performance today, getting tired of it :smirk:

Absolutely thrilled for him today. He is starting to look like the player he was at Spurs. Can't see anymore Berba bashing after banging in a hat-trick against the scousers.

Lazy bastard, only 3 goals? Sell him.

Such a cool celebration, not much of a smile, just sort of like 'yeah...touch me'.

I was reiterating your point, Livvie.

Scoring three against Liverpool - winning us the game - will go a long way towards acceptance and tolerance. If he has a bad game now, it won't (or it shouldn't) lead to the scapegoat threads.

He's got himself into credit. :)

I've probably never been happier. I've taken so much stick from my mates over Berbatov and my love for him.

He's been great this season!

10 minutes for this page to load! Facking guests!

Sensational performance, brilliant too see. 30 million? Bargain!

Great he's finally proving all his doubters (including myself) wrong. His performances pre-season were encouraging, but I think it was his goal against Chelsea which gave him the belief that this could be his year.

The thing I have noticed about his game this year as opposed to previous seasons is his willingness to run behind the defence, and also to pass and move. Before, he would drop too deep or would make a pass and just stand there. But now he makes runs behind the defence (as well as dropping deep) and when he makes a pass, he looks to run into spaces or into the box to get on the end of it. And also, it helps a great deal his goals are now winning games, and his goals are coming against the bigger/tougher opponents.

The CL games will be interesting, whether SAF reverts back to a 4-4-2 or goes with the trusted 4-5-1 knowing Rooney dislikes the wide-left role. But it's a headache I'm sure he's glad to have.

Any of you hear the interviewer with Ferguson after the game? First hat-trick in United v Liverpool in over 60 years.

edit: or was it thirty? Adrenaline makes me forgetful.

Noggy article states it's the first United hat-trick against Liverpool since 1946.

one of the best goals in United history

I might watch it on loop for the next hour or so.

It's good to see Berbatov both happy and confident. He's taken a lot of crap, some deserved, some not, but he's risen above it regardless. Hopefully he keeps this up, but if not, his brilliance today probably still won't be forgotten.

That said I'm in love with him right now.
