Ahhh jeeezzz. If we raise one point against a player we're all scum. I got news for you:

1.We are all allowed opinions, that's the point of this forum.

2. Berbatov was on the deck in the 2nd half and no one cared. Both Blackburn and United carried on as he lay on the pitch. If it had been Rooney or almost anyone else I am 99.9% sure that the ball would have been fired into row Z by the United players so fast your head would be spinning. To me that spoke volumes for the confidence they have in him to do the job he's paid to do, which is be a part of the attack.

That being said, he wasn't complete shite today, just in the second half. Unfortunately you can't show up for 45 minutes and call yourself United quality. He appears to be toothless.

Best post today.

Point 2. sums berbatov and the team up really. Seriously, people who think United fans can't criticise their own are idiots. Everyone has their opinions and if a player has been crap, don't expect people to keep quiet about it; especially if the player is not a ronaldo or rooney.

Why Berbatov being criticized for another crap display is seen as him being made the scapegoat by some posters ? There is no scapegoat in the team and Berbatov was shit. It's just that simple. Can't he be ever be criticized anymore ?

STAY ON TOPIC PLEASE PEOPLE.

God forbid the Berba Army move this thread in a "the rest of the team was crap too" direction. That is their only defence after all. Wouldn't be right letting them get away with it.

Yeah how dare people defend him! This is for hatewanking only!

Im just finding it encouraging so many United fans feel the same way I do. I'd take £10 million for him tomorrow, no questions at all. feck it, I'd take less than that just to get rid.

Talking about Nani Livvie not Berbacrap

OK, but my question is still relevant actually.

Is Berba. more of a creative midfielder than he is a striker?

Because if he isn't - what does he actually do?

And if he is, then we need to buy one or two strikers.

I like Berbatov, he's a great player clearly but even great players don't necessarily fit with just any team. The whole 'square pegs in round holes' thing springs to mind.

I'd love nothing more than for Berbatov to do for us what he did for Spurs, but he clearly suited them more than he suits us it would appear.

I just don't know what to think anymore.

People seem to think that everyone in here bashing Berbatov is basing that solely on his under-par performance today. That we've watched him be terrible in a single game, and are such retards we've made our minds up based on that.

Newsflash: He's been disappointing for two years. What's driven it home today is that his lazy, useless performance really stood out in a game where we probably threw away the league title. The game where he finally needed to exorcise his demons, he instead indulged them.

People don't want Berbatov out because of one poor performance - they want him out because of two years of consistently poor performances, where he failed to show up in the big games (eventualy being simply dropped for them), doesn't work in a 4-3-3, works poorly in a 4-4-2. He doesn't fit this United time and it merely leads to him becoming frustrated, at which point he flounces about sulking and wandering about offside.

It spoke absolute volumes that when he was curled up on the floor holding his face we didn't even bother to put the ball out. We just played on as if he wasn't there.

Dear god...

Again, how can you condemn people for going off topic when you do the same in another thread? And you slate me for bringing up Carrick, when I was just correcting a claim you made about Berba being our worst performer? If we're off-topic, you're off-topic, mate.

Oh my gosh.

Now remember, children, someone's going to have to pick up those toys you're throwing all over the floor. Now drink some warm milk, give mummy a cuddle and go to bed, you'll feel better in the morning. There there.

As for Berbatov? Good in the first half. Terrible in the second. To be fair, everyone was shit after half time but he was particularly awful. That miscued volley summed up his afternoon.

what is this supposed to mean? that patronising tone makes you feel better or what?

as for Bebratov - one thing gets omitted: he was involved in majority of good moves today (that's a positive things) but he simply failed each time he had a chance to make things happen. Maybe he isn't good enough (contrary to the popular myth). just a thought like.

one way or another- the whole team (bar Vds, Rio and Vida) failed miserably today.

To me it seemed like he was one of our most hard working players out there today and gave his all. You could see how much he cares judging by his frustration.

His frustration is merely complaining on team mates, he oozes negativity and is as far as you can get from Rooney spiritually. By this I don't mean all players should be alike, but we all know which of Berba and Rooney has the better frame of mind for a football pitch.

Think a step further. I'd claim him a free role in this game. We're clearly hoping that wings and midfielders will arrive in numbers and that Berbatov'll help the right moves along for us to create chances. He certainly did, at times.

Where was he when Macheda went off? He was obviously the striker and Gibson and Park were not brought on to play as strikers. He was obviously meant to be up front after Macheda went off anyway. We had nobody in the box. If that was a decision by SAF, then it was absolutely stupid. I don't think it was. There is no way a manager would take off his only striker when we needed a goal to salvage the lead. Not even Brian Laws would do that. The midfielders were never going to arrive in numbers. Scholes hasn't the legs anymore, and Gibson isn't exactly blessed with pace. Nani and Valencia had the ball on the wings constantly with nobody to cross to. I don't understand it. Either SAF or Berbatov is to blame for that.

The fecking problem with Berbatov is his attitude and today was the biggest example of it. FFS, stop waving your arms around and get on with the game. Nani might have had a shit game, but at least he wasn't lying on the ground for five minuted while the team was attacking.
Berba can feck off to Spurs where he is a star. He is not a United player.

People might cut Berbatov some slack if he didn't bitch and moan at his teammates endlessly from the first whistle to the last. Openly moaning towards Macheda in a huge game for the kid isn't going to do his confidence any good. Berbatov needs to cut that sort of thing out and just focus on his own job.

Yeah how dare people defend him! This is for hatewanking only!

But they too often don't defend him at all, rather deflect all the attention that is being given him (in a thread about him - ludicrous really isn't it?) onto a player who might have an equally poor performance.

Neville: tackling, brilliant. Attacking, non existent.

So can we establish whether he's a playmaker or a striker then?

Because if he's a playmaker, we need to enforce our front line. And if he's a striker, he's a bit rubbish tbh.

He's a striker. He was bought to score goals. He's played next to Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez, Mechada and other United strikers.

Yup. He didn't stop moaning all day. Needs to cut that out. He's not helping himself with the fans.

feck me. I posted in the Carrick thread to humour you.

So now our whole team think he's shit.

I mean, you could tell by the way they didn't kick the ball out when he was injured. It definitely didn't have anything to do with wanting to get on with play though. Or the fact they might not have believed he was as badly hurt as he was letting on. Or even that we just didn't want to surrender possesion.

Is this genuinely what you lot believe?

We wouldn't have won the league without him last season.
As usual you're a whiney little child who'd be better off switching to City.

That is an important point.

I don't think the players have confidence in him. From his body language, he obviously doesn't have any confidence in himself. Did you see Macheda having a go at him in the first half? That said a lot.

For whatever reason, it is clear that he has no confidence now and has had feck all in the last 2 years.

Neville: tackling, brilliant. Attacking, non existent.

Came closer to scoring than Berbatov mind.

I would also not be a bit hasty when it comes to criticism of Nani who seemed knackered at the end of the Bayern game where he was terrific. Probably should have been rested today.

Great point. His body language and his communication with other players when he frustration at them is what irritates me the most

Yea. He would get a lot less hassle from the fans if he didn't moan and bitch at the other players. Plus rolling around on the ground doesn't help, especially if your own players don't believe you.

That is easy to cut out though. SAF should sort that out.

I don't know what the feck Ferige was thining. Macheda was the only person on the team staying up front! It's blatant that Berbatov can't play that striker position. So we needed a goal to salvage our season and he takes off the only striker. I think it was madness!

Harsh but mostly true, although let's not forget most of us on here were all warming up to Berba before we had this shocker of a week after his performances for the last few months.

What is clear though is that Berba doesnt suit us and we don't suit him, time to get whatever money we can get from him and invest in someone else.
