Television Dexter

I can't watch this after Breaking Bad. It's like scoring an extremely beautiful woman in a club only to end up going home with a big fat munter.

That's why you watch it the other way around!

Why did Dexter leave Saxon with a ton of knives at his disposal!?
"Would give him even more credit than he deserves" was the reason. No idea in what way that makes any sense at all though. Didn't he drop an identical knife set (including the packaging) in the water with Doakes prints in season 2? Is he expecting everyone at Miami Metro to have forgotten about that? Actually, scratch that - that seems like a perfectly reasonable assumption.

It's not up on 'Let me Watch this' and I can't be arsed downloading it from a bittorrent unless anybody knows a no-brainer link to the episode

I watched the first episode of this last night. Pretty interesting and definitely good enough to make you want to come back for more. I've heard great things about the earlier series' so I'm sure I'll give it a go for a while. I'll be needing something to fill the void of Breaking Bad soon enough. :(

Question about Dexter: Are all of his "victims" folk who've gotten away with terrible crimes of some sort, or does he progress to petty serial killing later on? There's hardly that many people who've miraculously skipped jail sentences in Miami, is there?!

Primewire is the new 'Let me Watch this', Kinky. The old one got hacked so that's the one to go for.

This show isn't going to go down well with this line of thinking. Would recommend just taking the show for what it is and going with the idea that Miami is basically hell on earth.

It's really good though, you should definitely keep watching it. Just wouldn't watch it so critically as you would with other shows and instead take pleasure in the uniqueness of it. Dexter is one of the best characters around in the earlier seasons and he almost single-handedly makes the show quality.

I'm going to spoiler as little as possible for you, but Dexter only goes after "bad" people, yes. A part of the series explains the reasons why and how the character progresses in this aspect. About people "miraculously skipping jail sentences": you'll understand why there's plenty to choose from when you've seen Miami Metro in action. ;)

The first four seasons are class (some more than others, but all very good). Not Breaking Bad-class (although season 4 is some way up there), but still great TV.

Yeah, even from last night's viewing, I kind of appreciate that you need to suspend disbelief for some segments of the storyline. The fact that it's pretty unique in its plot is enough to warrant some leeway in that regard, though.

Looking forward to catching more of it over the coming days. I quite like the main character. His teeth are mesmerisingly white.

Ah I see! Nice one dude. Appreciate that. I was wondering why it had turned to shit!

No problem. Would recommend an adblock or something though because the adverts have become an absolute pain in the arse on that site!

The writing on the show is now so bad it's actually quite funny. I know you have to suspend belief a bit, but they've just gone mental on it.

"So the opening scene is Dexter on a motorbike, yeah, and he's having a full on fight with another bloke on a motorcycle. He kills that bloke, without witnesses, obviously, and then he goes home to play with his kid. But on the way there he runs into some triads, who for some reason think he's a bit of a dick and that and they start doing some martial arts shit at him. After an oddly short fight he prevails and kills them. Then, just as he's about to leave, President Obama shows up and, wouldn't you know it, he starts getting a bit gobby so Dexter has to kill him with the nunchucks he inexplicably has. After some witty repartee he kills him and all. Then he goes home, plays with his kid for a couple of minutes and then looks up a bunch of people on his apparently untraceable internet connection, using Miami Metro resources. Then, just as he's about to have a kip, ding dong, who shows up but Batman. Dexter senses he might be a kindred spirit, but kills him anyway after another surprisingly brief fight, hallucinates about his dead dad a bit, disposes of a bunch of bodies without anyone seeing him and then gets home, tucks his kid in and goes to sleep, safe in the knowledge that there are no plot holes in his life story."

Hmmm that most recent episode wasn't so bad considering what has come before it.

Still, pretty appalling for the 2nd last episode in the entire show. I'll watch the finale out of curiosity

Holes galore all over the show

For a final season, this just seems crap. Dexter leaving saxon alive is just dumb. He may not need to kill anymore, but you don't leave someone alive who knows you are a serial killer. Particularly when the other option is leave them for the cops to collect and then talk. I've just accepted that Hannah doesn't need a disguise to hide out :wenger: , she is clearly one of millions of women walking around miami that match her description.

For what should have been a great ending of a unique character, it is looking like the writers are going to typical living happily ever after route, which kinda sucks.

The US fecking Marshall :wenger::lol:
Can one human being get any more clueless ???? How the feck did he not know that Saxon was a killer and that everyone was looking for him ? What kinda amateur writing is that  ?

I honestly have no curiosity left. They are just taking piss now. When Dexter didn't kill saxon despite him knowing so much about him, I just gave up on this show. Considering how many times I have already given up on this show, I really didn't believe that I had another one left.

I'm disappointed Miami Metro have yet to discover what Dexter really is. Surely everyone had to find out at some point?

The show really is stupid now. A shame, as up to Season 4 it was superb. In hindsight killing Rita was probably a mistake.

It was a great element to add to the choice but those dumb ass writers failed to capitalize on it big time.

They should have kept things really creepy and on edge like Trinity. We should be seeing psychotic men with pigs heads and chainsaws at this stage, not some shit arse of an actor playing a washed up serial killer like Saxon.

It's fecking bollox

Or even look at real life serial killers such as John Wayne Gacy to help with the story writing. He was a creepy fecker who dressed up as a clown, abducted, raped and murdered teenage boys resulting in them being buried beneath his house.

It's not nice, it's completely fecked up but that is the capacity Dexter had. The final series just leaves any of the characters that had a morsel of strength in a place where the viewer really doesn't care.

Was a pretty stupid and shitty way to die. I didn't think his character was all that in The Shield, but this guy must've been a right weapon.

Its only me or Saxon acting wasnt so shitty in this episode?

I think there's actually an ok-ish character in there deep down somewhere with him. It'd require writers that aren't retards, though.

It was really quite dumb. Regardless of Dexter's "need to kill", the first rule of The Code is "Do't get caught," which means Saxon had to die.

Did anyone notice that Dexter goes through Vogals apartment without gloves on yet the Miami Metro find no prints at all. Probably because Angel is a "good detective"

Saxon can go to jail now and nothing happens to Dexter. He destroyed all the evidence so its basically, Saxon word against his. But yeah... bad time to start giving indults.

It's still stupid as Deb will have to deal with the consequences more than Dex as she will stay in Miami and we all know how she reacts under pressure...

Doakes' word, LaGuerta's word, Saxon's word. Wasn't there another one who accused Dexter as well and people were having none of it?

Yep and I think Quinn was closing in on Dexter at one point. I mean Dexter will go Argentina and yes it's Saxons Word against Dexters' but the problem is that Deb will still be in Miami and the heat will be on her, especially after the Hannah fiasco. Its fecking retarded

Probably the least excited I've ever been for a show's finale. Really not expecting any major shocks or twists. It will most likely be a boring, predictable ending.

what? cmon... its Dexter's finale, and you should be quite excited. Will Dexter be caught? i wanna know.

i agree nothing in the level of other tv series, but still... has been many years to now loose faith before the end.

But they've set nothing up to even hint at the threat of him getting caught. The only threat to Dexter at the moment is his serial killer girlfriend getting caught.

 I assumed you were being sarcastic when I read the first line.

I haven't even watched the last three episodes, it's sad that I can't even be arsed to watch the final episodes of a show I used to enjoy so much and invested so much time in. Maybe i'll just watch the last ten minutes or something.

If you just watch the "previously on Dexter" bits at the start and the previews for the next episode at the end, you will be all caught up for the finale.

I'm on edge waiting to see if Dexter gets to Argentina and lives happily ever after. Amazing climax to the series.

On a side note, I watched about 20 minutes of something the other night called "Charlotte Rampling: The Look". Was pretty decent actually. She's not all that different from how she is in Dexter to be honest, and the things she was saying made her a pretty fascinating person to listen to. Like a load of beer mats that had taken a life of their own or something.

What a pile of shite!
Take Saxon in alive? Not like he could tell the cops anything about Hannah or Dexter's pasttime.
Don't even put him in cuffs for Deb!

Shit! Game of Thrones has more realism. Can't wait for this to end. I'm only watching for the sake of completion, now.
