Television Dexter

Remember Lila in season 2? She was fecking shit, apart from her boobs.

Oh yeh, of the first four seasons Season 2 was the weakest, and she was a part of that. It also seemed cheap the way they killed off Doakes and Dexter got away with everything.

In my re-write I'd keep the overall plot arc -- Dexter's bodybags being discovered and everyone hunting him for a change -- and the way Doakes gets closer and closer to the truth, but I'd drop Lila. The idea was good, especially for a final season, but it was badly written and placed incorrectly in the timeline.

For me, season 1 was slightly better than seasons four. Bryan's death was the most emotional one in the entire show. I would put that moment even above the ending of season four. I liked both season 2 and 3, though they weren't in the same quality as 1 and 4.

For me it is:
1 >= 4 > 2 > 3 >>> 7 >=5>>>>>>>>>>8=6

8 and 6 are shit. They're even worse than South American or Turkish telenovelas.

Yeah don't do that, it will ruin it. Watch it normally, there's only a few episodes left till it's over so you might as well start now.

Even then I can see miami metro stumbling across dexter with a knife plunged into some guys chest with blood all over him and just go, nice work dexter good to see you got here so quickly. Particularly as you seemed to have come from some butcher themed fancy dress party. how do you think he was killed.

This tickled me

The face ageing thing was the worst thing I have ever seen in a TV show. How he did that in 30 seconds was beyond ridiculous.

Last 3 look like they could be decent.

Hopefully the producers saw what a feck up this show has become and took a week break to re-shoot the ending

The dialogue has reached epic levels of boredom. Shit episode, decent ending. 2 more episodes to endure...

I skipped over half that episode. Any scene with Batista, Quinn, Jamie, Masuka or anyone else I just skip. Even started getting bored of Deb's convo's with Dexter so skipped a lot too after I got the gist.ITs just boring and with 2 episodes left its very underwhelming. It shouldn't feel like 'any other season'

Interested to see where Masuka's daughter storming off is going to lead to. Compelling sub-plot.

It's so bad now that it's not even really the same show any longer. Curiosity on the ending is the only thing compelling me to continue at this point. Soo many characters I'd like to see killed off that I can think only of Deb left standing, everyone else are too poorly written to merit survival

The actors themselves must realize how much of a parody of itself it's become

Hannah rushing to the emergency room  Yeah, it's a cut - but not really life-threatening, is it? Why did the nurse seemingly wait several hours (it was light outside when Hannah was there and dark when the marshal arrived) before calling it in? And perhaps more importantly, why wasn't the marshal angry about that? Coupled with the whole diner-thing last episode I'm starting to suspect that the writers don't understand the concept of time.

Also, Hannah was clearly aware that she might have been recognised, but she didn't think about telling Dexter that? Sure, there's only a rather big chance that the marshal now knows that Dexter lied to him and Hannah is in fact staying with him - nah, not significant.

Eh, she doesn't have a kid and all the blood might have made her panic, so I can kind of understand her acting like that.

With Hannah having nothing to do all day for ages, surely she'd have thought of doing something to disguise herself in case she did need to go out in public - nothing major, just at least dye her hair or something.

The marshal had just been there and she knows he's on her tail. I can understand she'd panic a bit, but surely she could try calling Debra or that friend of hers (forgot her name). But then again, considering how little care they've taken so far I guess it fits. Like you said though, at least she couldn't worn a hat, glasses or something. She sticks out quite a bit, so it's pretty incredible that no one else recognised her considering the fact that her picture had been "all over the news" (to use Dexter's own words).

There's just way too many coincidences in the whole marshal-Hannah thing for my liking. The marshal goes to see Hannah's friend the exact day Dexter is there and he just happens to walk in the exact minute Batista is talking about Dexter leaving (good job doing that with an open door considering Dexter wanted to keep it quiet, by the way). Meanwhile, the marshal is seemingly doing feck all when he's not catching these lucky breaks. He seemingly hasn't progressed a single bit in the search apart from those, despite the fact Hannah walked around outside in the open quite a bit.

I expected it to be rubbish but it wasn't all that bad. The end saved it. Looks like it could be a decent end to the season.

I agree with all of that, especially bit in bold, but I try not to let that stuff get to me - like with Dexter being able to access the files on Saxon's computer so easily and finding that video.

I've been trying to look beyond that too really (I try to enjoy the show for what it is, although it's getting increasingly harder), but it just seemed too obvious in this case. Wanted fugitive, marshal fresh on your tail - you'd think a person would do anything possible to stay out of public view.

As for the computer part, the whole scene was laughable from the minute he walked in and left the fecking door open  But yeah, I didn't comment on that initially either, because Dexter's computer hacking abilities have been way too great the entire show really (not to mention the fact that everyone in Miami apparently keep their computer turned on at all time).

Couple of funny things.

First is the adult used for Harrison falling:

The next is a major spoiler I guess but its just more laziness from writers in not hiding it.... from those people who spot these things

It could in theory just be something Saxon is working on but doesn't seem it and fits with all spoilers we've had for a long time now

haha wtf looks like the guy from dumb and dumber...

Dexter is acting quite sloppy lately... and the blondie doesnt help much either.

ps. how you put the spoiler tags?

Another more interesting one is whether Quinn finished cooking and ate the dinner Jamie was preparing. I gotta say I couldn't sleep last night with all the possibilities juggling in my head.

I think this pretty much sums it up for me. Some piss poor acting. The only reason I am still watching it is.....as you put it.....curiosity

Vogel had her throat slit and the guy is still in the house so he hugs the body?!

Yeah that was so silly. The first thing I would be doing is scouting out the area to find out if it's safe. And hugging the body!?! :wenger: Now it's Dexter with Vogel's blood all over him

Someone should summarize this episode so I don't have to watch it.

Dexter told Angel he's leaving, random detective guy heard that and got suspicious. Harrison was running on a treadmill, turned into a fully grown man and cut his chin. This caused Hannah to take him to hospital and be seen in public, detective guy found out. Vogel got her throat cut by her shitty actor son and CRIME SCENE EXPERT Dexter hugged the corpse.

Alright cool, pretty much all of that is believable in the world of Dexter.
