Television Dexter

Think I've finally given up at this stage, have no interest in seeing it end.

I'll be interested to see what they do with it after the end to Season 6.

Colin Hanks appearing in an old episode of Numb3rs now. Equally as poor in this.

Why does it take me so long to catch on to these things? I'm 2 episodes into The Wire and 1 season into Sopranos too

Just finished the 2nd season, I'm surprised some people at the start of this thread commented it was weak. The Mrs and I both thought it surpassed season 1. The tensions just ramps and ramps because you think he is going to get caught, and there's a lot more humour in it. Nothing has been as good as Breaking Bad for me yet, but season 2 of Dexter came pretty damn close. Going to start season 3 tonight. Can't wait.

Oh and, I would definitely punch feck Deb, after feeding her a good meal or 2 first. Annoying, but hot.

Only watched the first four episodes of the show but thought it was pretty shit, is it meant to grow on you?

Don't find Dexter likeable in the slightest, he's too much of a freak. Thought there would be more fights in it aswell, just walking up behind people and knocking them out with that injection before chopping them up etc just makes him a sick weirdo.

And why is he like scared of sleeping with women? Urghh, he just seens like a gimp at the moment.

Series definitely peaked in seasons 2-4, been a surreptitious decline ever since...Will be interesting to see how they wrap this show up in the last 2 seasons -
esp. with the proverbial cat out of the bag

Those who just started watching this should NOT be anywhere near this thread.

Well they have to finish it off in fairness.

It should be quite an easy show to wrap up when they decide to do so.

Debra mentions the plastic sheets a fair bit but fails to realise that the vigilante (Dexter) in season 5 also used the plastic sheets.

Also, I think it was in season 5 when Debra and Masuka walk in on Dexter soon after he has killed someone yet (at least in the first 2 mins of season 7) she does not see the connection.

It would be better if Debra works out Dexter is a serial killer in the first episode. If they spend the entire season on her tracking Dexter then it will just be shit.

I just finished watching season 4, amazing tv. But I've heard the seasons after go downhill, should I bother?

Well, no.

But no one in their right mind is going to stop watching a show they've been watching for 4 seasons based on someones word. Start watching with zero expectations.

Yep. Continue watching and make your own mind up.

Try and keep away from thread discussions on any forums about those seasons too as there have been parts that I didn't think were that bad but after reading this thread and others I've noticed the sloppy/bad bits a lot more than I would have if I hadn't read through them.

Well I stopped watching 24 after 6 seasons and never finished it. I enjoyed the first 4 seasons a lot but it ended up being too repetitive. I think with Dexter, it has been really good but I'd want to see some story progression or the story take a different direction if I keep watching. I had a quick look at season 5 trailer, and it seems like it's going to go round in circles, Quinn is gonna be annoying character and so are Rita's kids. If it's going to wreck my impression of the series I'd quite happily stop having watched 4 seasons.

You can say that again.

That looks better than the opening sequence they released, looking forward to it.

It looks good, but I regret watching it as I feel it does spoil quite a bit.

Quite spoilery to be honest. Also, I'm still not feeling it. Dexter's monologues have lost their 'cool' factor for me ... It's almost as if he's the television announcer at the end of Adam West's batman show now.

That trailer fails to provide any information on whether or not Yvonne Strahovski will get her tits out, and so it is worthless.

I'm excited for the season. Last season was pretty poor by the show's own standards but with an endgame in mind (2 seasons left) and the cat out of the bag, I am encouraged that this could be a great season

We're trying, FCB. But then Cina shows up and punches us in the face with cynicism :(
