Preview for next week's episode:
Had no idea where this season was going after 5-6 episodes, but wow, it's set everything nicely for two great final episodes, with everyone closing in on everyone.
While last season had much to do with John Lithgow, this season doesn't have a dominant opponent. There have been a few smaller ones and now we've moved on to the big one, Jordan, but it's quite different. It's the writing and how Dex is trying to maneuver around bigger obstacles than ever - dealing and having to protect a partner in crime, having several people closing in on you all at once - while making far more errors than ever, that is actually making it a superb season.

I've bought series 1 and 2 having never watched this before. On to disc 4 on series 2 and loving it!
I'm up to the part where Dexter has Doakes locked up in the Cabin.
When does the season end? I've been holding off on watching it as I hate watching it week by week and I'd like to watch them all in one sitting.
Well i've just got a couple more discs to watch, 4 episodes on each so i'll let you know when it's finished.

yeah im guessing they are going to go with the blood on Quinn's shoes, and he will take the blame to protect dexter in order to maintain his relationship with debra

It looks like Deb sees Dexter holding a knife. Probably was cut to make it look like that, but wow I can't wait until the next episode.
Also, Dexters been renewed for a 6th season. I really wish they'd wait until after the final episode to announce. Makes it a bit more edgy.
Agree on the editing to make it look like Debra catches Dexter but if she does then holy shit it's going to be intense.
It's been known for a while now that there would be a 6th season I thought.
I'm sure it was cut to look that way. It's happened in previous previews as well.

I'm thinking that's probably Lumen she saw. The probability of Lumen taking the fall as repayment for all the trouble that she said she has caused Dexter?? Think Debra will probably let her go though as someone mentioned earlier in the thread.
Very good episode, the finale is set-up perfectly.

Quinn goes down for Liddy's murder but the Lumen/Dexter story could go in any direction (Lumen might die, Dexter might get caught, Lumen might get caught). Also, what's going to happen with the car-crash??

So they used Lumen as bait to catch Cole at the hotel, well that explains that one then.
The bit with the farting cat was amazing, completely random but it stopped it all getting a bit heavy.

But Lumen and Deb meeting has made me think it won't be Lumen Deb confronts. If it is Lumen the cat is out of the bag for Dexter anyway because Deb will instantly think that he is her accomplice. The only way it could be plausible is that someone else will be set up as her accomplice and as it will be someone we've already met the only real suspects are Jordan Chase or Quinn but it wouldn't be difficult for either to be erased from suspicion so that would be a cop out ending (pun horribly intended)
My money is on it being Chase that she confronts and then she will chose to kill him in cold blood rather than arrest him.

Good episode overall though, though I felt it was a bit short and could've done with another 5 or 10 minutes. Finale should be a cracker.
Glad it's been renewed for a 6th series BUT I do hope to god that's the last one.
that Deb does find out about Dexter. I'm getting too fed up of him wriggling his way out of seemingly impossible situations all the time now. They need to add that aspect to the show, I presume they probably will due to what's happened with Deb so far, with her shooting that guy and going on about how 'beautiful' the vigilante thing is.
As crap as I think Julia Stiles is as an actress, I don't want them to get rid of Lumen, purely because Dexter just met her this season so I think to get rid of another major love interest one season after Rita's death would be a bit crappy.
Johnny Lee Miller as a villain just doesn't do anything for me really, he doesn't come across as menacing or frightening enough. Even in the house with Lumen and Emily when he was smashing her with the fire poke, it didn't feel disturbing or anything. Then again, I find myself comparing him to Jon Lithgow, which is probably a tad unfair.

Ahhh, never thought about that angle. That's one way they can spin it I guess. Good call.
I always had and still do, that deb will find out in one of these season finales about dexter, and that the next season would be basically be about that.
