I had about 15 goes of it. The last attempt we managed to get his HP down to just a sliver and then it suddenly said we were all dead when I was literally just bouncing around fine and dandy. That moment... urgh.
It's plenty of fun but somewhat lacking in what I expected it to be. I thought it'd be open world but it isn't, it's several maps with thirty-something storyline based missions and the story isn't particularly interesting.
Mechanics are great though, it's plenty of fun to play, graphics are mostly good and I think it'lll have the longevity - maybe not to the same extent as Diablo because looting and leveling up isn't as well constructed in Destiny but still I fully expect to be coming back to it a year or so from now. The biggest single element that's lacking for me compared to what I expected it to be (well, I didn't read too much about the game hence the misconception I guess) is that it's not really open world.
Not slept tonight, was going to bash Destiny for a few hours but it booted me out midway through a mission and I couldn't be bothered doing it all again.

I'm only level 6 but I've noticed that all interior locations look exactly the same - is this only a regional thing? I.e. will they look different when I start exploring different planets?

I found this odd too. But yeah, every planet is completely different but every time you visit a planet it shares the same environment and start point for all its missions.

I got to level 5 last night (first night of play) I'll have to add some of you to my friends list later and get a fireteam going as even though I loved it it would be much, much better with co-op a team that sticks with ya rather than fecking off to do their own thing.
True. The mission I was in yesterday alone was unbearable without support, I'm probably going to try and finish it today but odds are still against me.

I like the crucible but it's frustrating that the level 20's etc are so much more powerful than me.
I went into it at level 6 and they kill you almost instantly. Ah well once I level up more it won't be so bad.

I'll be online much earlier today as I'm going out in the evening, I might log on when I come back. When I'm available I'll be playing Destiny/FIFA15 so catch me when I'm on.
Shotgun and AR, grenades, melee and supers... use those. To be fair though there'll always be those 'pro' players... I get rinsed too. Just have to hope the matchmaking gets a bit smarter...

Yeah I mean I play COD / Battlefield i'm usually pretty handy at FPS games, but I found the game to feel quite unbalanced at first. I am sure it will get better though. The jumping is a pain in the ass though
the new COD is going to be ridiculous.To be fair the PVP is horribly balanced in favour of hunters - the double/triple jump and the golden gun are just ridiculous.

Yeah but just make sure they miss those 3 shots, Titan and Warlock special is squad killer (I've seen that you can upgrade the Warlock/Titan special to travel a long distance, I used to back up out of range but some fcuker must have hit me from the width of a football pitch away

Dunno, I've yet to use Titan. It was between Titan and Warlock for my first Character... Went warlock in the end. Space magic son!

It's crap being a warlock at first but oh my it's powerful when you get to around level 14 and up

Just do the missions on hard and always aim for the head I guess haha
I Have done all of Earth on the hard setting, but struggled with the last 2 missions by myself. Is it worth sticking on hard for the extra XP would you say?. Do you get better upgrades for playing hard too?
You get more experience and better loot at times. It's definitely worthwhile and more fun, but some of them are near impossible on your own.
Yep, the point where you get no respawn's can be a bitch. The part where you have to defend the hub? and the 3 shiploads of enemies coming at you is pretty mental. Like you say though it's a great sense of achievement when finished.
Yeah, hard is the way to go. It's actually a challenge and you get better drops & XP. I don't see the point in doing normal unless you are under-geared... or in a rush.
It wouldn't let me pull my Sparrow out, so I assumed it wasn't available on multiplayer. I guess I was in a too awkward place?
Still, riding through the open for ages, looking for people on the outskirts of the map and being at risk from snipers/pikes alone isn't gonna make that map any good.

Yeah, I bought the £90 Guardian edition that comes with the 2 expansion packs, but it was only £43 through the Hong Kong store. Then me and my mate are using the home console system so we've both got access to the one digital copy, so has only cost me about £22

The easiest strike mission, the one on Earth, was hard enough with 3 of us. We all died at least a couple of times, though the other two were a couple of levels under levelled.
Agree though, the sense of achievement on beating a boss is brilliant.

When you get to a certain level you have your own map next to the crucible where you can do strikes. I tried one on Mars which was near impossible!!
According to Weaste the region of the game and the DLC have to match.
