Gaming Destiny | Rise of Iron launch

Wait, so there's 4 PVP maps? For each mode? No variations? And 4 areas for PVE?

I don't know, a few sites only had like 4 listed but I think they were wikis. I got the impression it was one from each area but I found it incredibly surprising so hopefully I'm wrong.

Anyone up for some Earth/Moon strikes on PS4?

Blah. Strikes are pointless with matchmaking. A guy just left the Nexus on Venus even though we got it to 20 percent first time. Dickhead.

It's amazing how the opinion on Gaf has changed on this. Now quite a few are calling it average.

It's everything everyone should have expected it to be.

Whether you think it's brilliant, good or average is simply down to peoples own expectations and preferences for games. If you care about story or wanted a great pvp then this was never going to hit those spots. If you don't and just love to play with friends and go around mowing enemies down in the aim of loot, you might find it a fantastic experience.

Does the story in this scale in difficulty? I.e Do they triple the number of enemies you face if you're playing with 3 people as opposed to playing solo?

It's scaled based on players yeah, and also has a 'heroic' mode too which is far harder, if you fancy the challenge. I usually try heroic first, sometimes it's a bit too tough though later on, for me anyway.

Beat Nexus first time there with a good group, satisfying shit, I like the game a lot. Now to find some non random people to play with, these so called ... 'friends'.

I'm level 5 but I'm yet to play with anyone. :(

Accepted.

What's a Grimoire card and what do I do with them?

Just added a bunch of you guys. Feel free to invite me into fireteams and stuff, will be on for most of this evening probably.

Level 18 and all levels complete.

I must say, I didn't and still don't have a fecking clue what the story was all about.
Haven't tried the crucible yet

It's such a non-story from what I gather. In fact, I have less of a clue as to what the point is than I do in Diablo 3. Fun though, which is all that matters.

What do you do with Grimoire cards?? Love this game but not enjoying PVP at the minute until i rank up alot more. Lots of people just seem to soak up alot more bullets than i doo.

Just had another epic round of control, and low and behold... share didn't catch the clip...at least I got a screenshot anyway.

One thing I will say is pick your gear with perks in mind, for instance the ability to melee faster than the other guy is more important than that 20 extra armour... likewise the ability to keep those supers coming, so high discipline for example. Anyway, anything going on?

Rocket launcher is beastly in PVP, but I'm using a standard RL with 2 in the clip and faster firing and bigger splash damage as opposed to my rare seeking one.

So if you plan to go through the story missions, dont buy a ship or sparrow from the shipright woman. There are missions that reward you a new one of each.

A couple of levels ago I bought a new Sparrow, not I'm rewarded with the same one right down to the same colour. So thats unfortunate.

Ha, I did the same with the Sparrow. Only I bought mine at the same time I was redeeming the upgraded ship at the end of Venus, only to find out that the first mission of the net planet offers you a new Sparrow.
