Anybody know if this installation can be paused or resumed? Had my PS4 on all night and I'm only half way through (shit country internet). It won't finish before I go to work later and I'm not inclined to leave it on then.

Yup, still seems to be a bit of functionality lacking, like why cant we use the touchpad to navigate the menus?
But the bullet and turned the PS4 off and back on. Resumes the download at where you left it. Good to know I won't be coming back to a melted PS4 after work 
Don't you have it set to turn off after a period of inactivity?
Yeah but think when it's ingame it doesn't work the same. The download is currently running in game so didn't want to turn it off to find the download had restarted, if it just ran off the menu like most do I'd of just downloaded it in standby mode.
Ahhh... I noticed that the other day, I was in game but had finished playing, I expected my power settings to kick in after a while so I left it to do it's thing. When I came back it was still on... hours later.

Does it matter which retailed for the preorder? My mate ordered from Tesco but says he never had one, so I've said I'd give him mine.

I've got to say after playing a full day of it and getting a better feel, I'm really impressed. This is going to be a big hit when it comes out
Well I barely play online shooters, haven't really gotten into one properly since mw2. So if by how do I fare you mean in online competition then...well I don't really. The few games I played of bf3 I was getting absolutely destroyed, but I also didn't really know what I was doing.
For most games yeah the controller settings are similar if not identical to what you'd find on consoles.
That being said, I mostly use my pc for strategy games like civilization, total war etc where obviously mouse and keyboard is mandatory. I bought the controller when I realized that Steam sales allowed me to play action adventure games I'd normally associate with consoles at such a cheap price (just finished Alan Wake last night). I prefer hooking the pc up to my TV and playing those kind of games from the couch.
