Bungie.net seemingly down so I can't even check if I have the codes yet. What a shit show :lol:

Edit: It's the Sony API to login on Bungie that is down. Well done Sony, starting this generation off with the same sterling online experience we got with the PS3.
 
31% downloaded. I may get a go this evening after all. Though I am certain the game servers will have crashed.
 
Got my codes, but no joy in actually managing to start a download. This is the first time I've ever really done a 'day one' download of anything before. Gotta say, not loving the process...
 
What a horrible idea from them to release the codes like this all at once
 
wahey finally got in and started downloading :D

Surprisingly downloading very quickly aswell. Already 11% on about 20 Mbit connection

Do I have to use my code again to get back to that page? :/ sorry lads who I promised codes too but looks like forced overtime tonight and I can't sign in to any network for shit ATM. Shit servers everywhere... Brilliant.
 
My fear of the servers crashing appears to be unfounded. My friend has been playing for the last 30 minutes (he delights in telling me) with no problems.

I am at 74%.

Go back and sign in. Then you will see your codes.
 
I am going Titan. Right this second as the download has just finished.
 
This is good. Looks great and the gun play is tight. I upped the sensitivity level on 'look' as I've been playing a lot of Titanfall. Just made it out of the tutorial.

I played warlock in alpha and loved it, I might give the other 2 a try and see how they compare.
 
What could you compare the gunplay/basic mechanics to Lance?
 
Hard to say, considering I have been playing Titanfall, BF4 and now Ghosts as well.

Borderlands springs to mind.
 
Does the gunplay feel like Borderlands? I know the whole looting, open world etc. is similar.

Cause the gunplay in Borderlands is bad. Though, you've already said it's tight so I guess that's not what you were referring to.

Every time I watch a video of this game I get different vibes of it's inspiration such is its scale.

I wonder if this MMO-lite style will be defining of the generation. Somehow I wonder if publishers would be willing to take a risk on this model for the most part. Will be interesting to find out though.

Phantasy Star was great and yet nobody was prepared to go down that route. Sales will be much higher for Destiny but the budget behind it is massive.

It looks like a combination of Borderlands + Halo. I really don't know what to make of it, its decent but its not amazing either
