Dele Alli - Performance Thread 2017/18

I wouldn't, personally. Genuinely despise him. And also, I think some of stuff he does he wouldn't get away with as much playing in a United shirt.

No different to Rooney when he was younger. Always played a bit angry. I'd say Rooney did so even more than Alli tbh.

Nah he's quality. If he played for us we would all love the edge he seemingly always walks on.

Nah...maybe if it actually helped him but it doesn't. Got involved with Ashley Young when he didn't need to, in order to prove he was a tough guy, then got himself wound up in doing so and affected his entire team's rhythm from that. Then spent the res tof the game getting wound up every time any United player got involved with him. At the ennd he was more interested in whining that trying to get Spurs back in the game.

Happens too often with him.

At one point Neville was praising him for not headbutting anyone...probelm is everyone else on the pitch managed to get through the exact same game, without looking like they might headbutt someone in the first place. I'm really not sure what this adds to his game considering his performance was basically crap.

Neville is a frigging idiot in fairness.

Did that really happen?

Yeah, after he squared up to Young, which there was no reason to do in the first place. He also managed at the same time to accuse Young of trying to get Alli to headbut him so he could pretend pretend Alli headbutted him, which I don't even know where to start with really.

Ashley Young became a hero for life for telling him "when you win the Prem, let me know." Desperately trying to wind this muppet up.

I didn't watch Sky coverage of the game. Just noticed Neville playing the psychologist expert role. Just read Neville even went further with knowing Alli's inner thought about restraining himself breaking Young's nose...

He's a bit of a Jack Wilshere isn't he. Wannabe hard man, loves squaring up to people and waiting for the ref or teammates to step in. Just that sort of twat you get in football sometimes. Wouldn't last five minutes if he was playing a genuinely brutal sport.

Dier's got a bit of that in him as well, hilarious given he's an ex-public schoolboy.

Bet Robson, Keane etc wish they could play against this Spurs side and get stuck into them.

I don't condone violence but the lad needs a hiding. He might realise he's not Anthony Joshua then who by contrast has earned every right to give it the big un but in fact comes across as very humble and decent.
Quite.

He's an absolute cnut. Again, if he was as good as he thinks he is then fair enough. He's a glorified Kevin Phillips the Milton Keynes cnut.

Deary me we've got some easily offended characters in here.

I enjoy the back and forth between players. All part of the entertainment.

Way over rated but is a good player and would be superb at OT but not worth anything more than £60m.

Naaah Rooney was different, he was never a pussy like Alli, the snidey prick. This guy shouted his mouth to Young today and screamed like a little bitch when Valencia rammed him

Dier's actually got something behind him though. Alli looks pretty fragile.

This is true. I remember in the 4-2 vs Arsenal he wouldn't back down from the likes of Vieira.

Yes that's what I meant, Rooney would have a go at anyone, Viera, Pires and Campbell from those games against Arsenal spring to mind. Alli is a coward.

Did Ashley young really say to him that when he wins the prem to let him know?
If so I need to change my player rating for young to a 10.

This was absolutely ridiculous by Neville. They were just squaring up to each other, as happens in football very frequently. Somehow from that Neville decided it was Young that was trying to get Alli to headbutt him. Rather than, say, the other way round. Or rather than, say, just 2 people squaring up to each other.

He's been watching Aguero vs Fellaini clearly.

No one on commentary once mentioned the snide little fecker diving. Poor old Dele; just misunderstood.

Which Neville? Alli should have been booked for that elbow on Young later in the game. How he gets away with all that is shocking. If it was Fellaini he would already have been sent off for the half of what Alli did today.

I don't know what Neville is trying to prove sometimes...we are all watching so can see what was happening. It was barely worth commmenting on. Just Young wound up about nothing and Alli being an idiot in a situation he didnt need to get involved in.

Did amuse me that Alli was willing to run across the pitch to prove he's a hard man to Ashley Young, but when Valencia, who unlike Young, isn't half the size of Alli, actually did a fairly bad challenge on him, he wasn't interested in squaring up to him.

To be honest it isn't hard to analyze why Spurs struggle in the big games when they are relying on silly little boy mentalities like this. Dembele was even worse when he came on...had 3 temper tantrums in 15 minutes and did feck all other than that.

The only player in this Spurs that you can't resist hating him. Very unlikable character on and off the pitch.

off the pitch? Total nonsense, the kid was brought up in care and has had a really tough start in life. In all interviews I've ever seen he comes across as a pretty balanced young kid. Wise up.

I'm talking about him currently not his history.

And calm down a bit. It's not like I insulted your team by saying you have an unlikable character. If you love him, fair enough, but I'm not supposed to do so.

What has he done off the pitch to suggest he is very unlikable? It's just rubbish mate sorry. EDIT: I can see what you mean ON the pitch sure, he would be annoying as hell if he wasnt a Spurs player - I'd hate him on the opposing team as he is a wind up merchant.
