btw I always thought Lindegaard in most other teams would have been first choice. I would have been happy with him.

Not sure what he must be thinking....If Valdes goes and we still bring in someone who is not proven as Sly and others are saying....

We've known since Christmas that de gea realistically could leave, I am sure we have a list of goalkeepers already drawn and van gaal will have his favourite chosen. Whether it be lloris or Leno or cillisen I think we will be OK. Obviously de gea is a different level but we can only get the next best.

how about ospina? he is decent for sure. we can give arsene a thinking or two maybe

Or keylor Navas

I think both DDG and Valdes will leave and we will get Navas as part of DDG deal and buy Oblak from Atlético.

Than we have a talented young gk and an experienced back-up

Would you rather spend £30m on Oblak or £30m on Lloris?

Lloris.

Oblak is still largely untested. I feel majority of people who want him have only seen him play that one amazing game against Real.

If De Gea is set on a return to Madrid for family reasons and you lot want Oblak, why not publically offer a swap? If all parties agree then cool, if De Gea declines to move back to Atletico because he prefers Real, then you've outed him as an utter shitehawk.

Obviously he only wants to move to Real and not Athletico. And we don't function that way as a football club. We have a bit more class than Chelsea Im afraid.

When did Chelsea do anything like that? We just gave Cech to Arsenal out of respect to the man.

Me on the other hand, I'm a cnut.

Let's just say Madrid decide to move on and go for someone else....do you think De Gea would consider extending his stay with us?

De Gea going on the tour, and Valdes isn't.

Interesting. Assume Valdes won't be here next season then.

Unfortunate for Lloris. Good for us because he might not be there when we play them though. Rules him out of replacing DDG you would assume too.
Don't think a month injury would rule him out, that'd be absurd.

All are quite small, keep DDG and wait another year for some goalkeeper to emerge than promote Johnstone to fight with the one we buy, he's great talent who should for that reason (if DDG stays) go out on loan to championship side to gain extra experience, next year he will be ready..

If we want immediate replacement than Lloris is the best out of all

I'm guessing De Gea will see out his contract with us, and we'll sign his replacement next year. Am actually happy with this, because I don't see any ideal players out there who are realistically available right now.

Might also reduce his transfer fee.
As if that makes a difference to us now. LvG is playing Football Manager with the money cheat activated right now. Which actually makes the club feel sorta soulless, almost feel like I'm supporting Chelsea now, all icky.

I like it.

You think the club is "soulless" for spending money that it generated? besides we haven't even splurged the cash this summer.

Agree man. I would much prefer shopping on third tier players while spending hundred of millions on debt and interest payments.

£76.1m on 4 players. Averaging £19m a player which as you say is hardly splurging the cash.

Sort of. I agree at least United generated it's income itself, which is much better than Chelski. But doesn't make it feel much better tbh, still buying our way back to the top rather than developing youth with players that are part of the club's culture.

Why would you want to "out" DDG?
He is a professional and he wants to move to the biggest club in Spain (and maybe the World). He is showing ambition and I don't begrudge him this.
I would however, ask DDG to see out his contract and do a good job for us (just like Schmeichel did for us in 1999). I wouldnt sell DDG for less than £50M because we have too many new players in our team and new GK will mean that we can't compete for the title, due to the settling period which must be allowed for the new players. And also, I like to have (what I believe to be) the best GK in the World, in our team. ;)
