I've thought Lindegaard did well enough for us when he played.

I'd take him as No. 1, and instead focus our efforts on creating a more solid defence

Cech or Lloris would be the only options I'd entertain to be honest - preferably Cech as I think he's the better keeper, and he still has about 3 good years in him at least.

I know DDG has been World Class this season but am i the only one who is more interested in securing quality outfield players than another World Class keeper?

Cech would be a brilliant signing, he's probably still got five years in him and I assume he won't cost us a lot unless Chelsea are reluctant to sell to a rival. It'd also leave us some slack finding a younger GK to replace him. That fact that Real will have secured a new GK to last at least ten years would probably also allow us some peace from their poachers.

Any rumours of the De Gea fee?

Czech hasn't been the same since he broke his skull. I'd prefer Lloris especially because he'd suit playing with a high defensive line.

Begovic is absolutely appalling with his feet, one of the worst in the league in that regard. As such I really don't see us being in the slightest bit interested.

Not sure if serious. Not even nearly good enough to be #1. If we're promoting from within then Valdes is considerably better.

Have to Lloris would probably be my first choice. With the high line we play, he would be ideal as he's quick off his line. Only thing that worries me is his is contribution. As we like to now play from the back, having a keeper who is good with the ball is pretty important.

What's this Leno like? Is he good with the ball, quick off his line, etc?

I think Valdes could see us through at least a year or two, so we don't have to panic in bringing someone else in. I think Begovic would be a decent option and is quite easily obtainable given that he is in the same position contract-wise as de Gea.

We'll get ripped off with Levy and Loris. Much better to go for someone much cheaper from elsewhere and boost our defence (this should be our priority right now).

Seems so obvious, if Cech is available then it has to be him. Really hope we don't end up fecking around with this like from 1999-2005, when the answer is staring us right in the face.

I hate the idea of replacing De Gea with Lloris and actually losing money in the process

A new goalkeeper is crucial, would love to have Cech if we're going for experience, hes a superior GK to Valdes imo but a year sitting on the bench means he might be pricey. If we're going for a cheap alternative then Begovic should be an option.

Can't imagine van Gaal even considering a goalkeeper as poor with his feet as Begovic is.

Would love to have Cech as our nr.1, and I wouldn't mind the experience he would add to our defence.
On the other hand, if De Gea was to sign a new five year contract now and stay three, four years, then sure, that's what we should do.

How do you know he is past his best? He was performing very well right up until he got injured, and he hasn't played competitively since. There's nothing to suggest he has suffered any kind of decline, and it cannot be judged until he actually plays.

He has played competitively unless playing for the u21 isnt considered competitievely. Hasn't looked special at all during those games and he has missed well over a year of football. Just going with Valdes knowing all of that is too much of a risk.

You mean Valdes sitting on the bench for a year is pricey or ?

And why do you think Begovic would be cheap, he is an important player for Stoke, they will not let him go for peanuts.

I wouldn't care if we got Cech or Lloris. I think both of them are more than capable of doing the job.

It is going to suck if De Gea leaves but it will not be disastrous. We can easily get a keeper who may not be as good as him but will still be a great player for us.

I could settle for a 'solid' goalkeeper if I knew we would have a better organised more consistent back-four next season. The problem is, buying good defenders doesn't always fix a bad defence as problems often run deeper than individual quality. We need a consistent unit at the back - that was the foundation for our last great team.

Handanovic is shit. If we would have to buy a GK outisde of the PL, i would rather go for Leno or Perrin.

He is not shit and much better than Begovic, who was mentioned here too. And he would also be available at least for a decent fee too. That said I would also rather get Leno, not so sure about Perin.

Handanovic is shit, Begovic shouldnt be in a discussion to replace De Gea. But Handanovic makes more mistakes than Lloris and Casillas put together, they guy is useless. He is a penalty killer and has good reflexes at times, but i would be nervous in every shot we concede. Just yesterday made another mistake, dont know how many he already made this season that cost his team vital points. Seems to live from his past reputation, he isnt 22 anymore.

He made his share of mistakes this season, but not really that much more like someone like Lloris, he has been very good this season too and outstanding the year before that. I am not sure if he would be a good fit for the PL, but he is not a shit keeper imo.

He is the equivalent of Lloris, no control of his area and has good reflexes, which make him look good, but showing no composure or calmness. Makes too many mistakes, the only positive would be his price, but i am not sure he would even be that cheap. He would need to adapt too, and if he was that great, Inter wouldnt look to replace him with Cech. Either way, i dont want him here and think he is overrated.

Inter wants to replace him, because he doesn't sign a new contract and made it already pretty clear that he could leave from what I heard. I don't think he is that bad, but I understand what you mean. But of course Lloris for 4 times the money shouldn't be a option then just because he is PL proven?

No, both arent good enough, but i do think that Lloris has that advantage. Unfortunately, he plays for Tottenham and would be too expensive. I mean it is a no brainer Cech or Lloris for the prices mentioned. So Cech or Leno would be my options.
