De Gea post-season interview: "Ones who want to stay, stay at the club. Ones that don't want to stay go out. You don't have to stay here."

Never collects crosses when they’re right in front of him, I still remember his punch vs PSG in the dying seconds, could’ve cost us the game. Lay on his arse for 30 seconds as Arsenal put the ball into an empty net. Coward.
I remember him getting knocked unconscious by Andy Carroll, and he still held on to the ball. Not much in the way of cowardice on display in that instance.

Ralf couldn't have done worse job though.

I wonder if there are any posters in here that have been substitute teachers. It's a freaking nightmare in some rooms/classes.

That's the perspective with which i view this interim management period. He couldn't have done any better without pandering to a bunch of spoiled and unprofessional mercenaries.

Where is that aggression from De Gea when crosses are being played into our box and balls are being played behind our defence, he's terrified to leave his leave his line. He is part of the problem.
Not being comfortable with a style of play, is not the same as being massively limited on the pitch. He's a better shot stopper than just about anyone in the league, he's awesome at actually keeping the ball out the net. Alas he's not great at distribution or playing a high line.

Somehow this makes him an awful keeper. People will miss him when he's gone when our fancy new keeper plays a high line and can kick the ball well but barely makes a game winning save.

We saw it with Henderson who people talked him up on here like he was bloody Lev Yashin because "he was more comfortable on the ball" and "more vocal". Then you see him play and he's a massively average keeper who spills the goal into his own net and has average agility/reactions.

clearly the ‘dressing room’ is more toxic behind the scenes than we realise. this is a pretty big statement by DDG.

Glad he’s spoken out as our most senior player.
My worry is that it's not realistic/possible to remove all this toxicity in one fell swoop so going in to next season we might still have these negative elements lingering in the background making ETH's job a lot harder, we really need everyone on the same page if a real "reboot" is going to happen.

Some fans that have labelled RR one of the worse Utd managers...need to read those comments by De Gea. I'm not sure Guardiola is getting anything out of them how they have behaved, worse bunch of players we've had at the club in terms of attitude and commitment.

I think De Gea has grown to love this club. Still probably wishes he’d gone to Madrid and won the champions league, mind. Still, you can tell he gets the fans.

Which is a double edged sword. It also means that one can manipulate people's perception by saying what they want to hear. And one massive issue here is that people will likely side with the ones that have talked first and said what people wants to hear which doesn't mean that these people aren't the problem or part of it.

He consciously tries to avoid any sort of physical contact which is quite problematic when you are goal keeper , in terms of being keeper he is quite cowardly to be Frank .

What are you bringing Henderson into the conversation for, he's not good enough to be United number 1 either. De Gea talks a good game in interviews but that doesn't change the reality that he is part of the problem. He is a major part of why our defence is so bad, he breeds nervousness and indecision in the defence because of how cowardly he is. He is not a leader, quite the opposite.

I don’t know why people are getting all excited.

De Gea himself is a massive fanny and a big part of the problem. This will be even more obvious as and when we start to get slightly better, just as it has before.

But, yeah, crack on, I guess…

Why isnt Henderson our number1 if DDG is so poor

That guy will never admit that Rangnick is awful.
I agree that RR has not lived up to the initial hopes but what became clear, is Ole covered up the poor characteristics of this dressing. His last game was a thumping against a Watford team that had won once until that date. What followed was nothing that shpuld surprise anyone. Most of these players are either not good enough for a top 4 side or have the egos where they think they made it. Admiting that RR was awful is the last thing we should concern ourselves with, at least he has been honest about what he has, and not been scared to share it. I was getting increasingly annoyed with Ole at every conference saying how good the squad was and we never saw performances or results to match it, this season. This mess has been caused by Woodward, but Ole was not better and should have gone a long time ago, or never got the perm job from the start.

I thought we weren’t getting better?

Some fans are such weirdos, whatever you think about De Gea's suitability for us going forward, at least have some form of respect for him.

Why are you asking me? I didn't say that De Gea was poor and don't really have anything good to say about Henderson.

How can it get to a point where not just one but multiple players don't want to be at a great club like Manchester United? There's millions who would die to play on that pitch.

Honestly in total confusion at that.

Pressure is a big factor. The demands on Manchester United players on and off the pitch are huge. You need the right character to thrive in that environment.

It's the same at other big clubs as well. Liverpool players are under pressure, but they have total and utter faith in their manager, and there are real leaders in their squad. The same goes for City - the pressure is channelled by the manager in the right direction, and the leaders in the squad help the players as a whole to handle the pressure.

We're directionless. No real leaders. Nobody helping the players deal with the pressure that comes with playing for a club like this. Hopefully Ten Hag can begin to change that.

None of this is to suggest that the players are to be excused for the season we've had. Far from it. Nobody has really stepped up. Too many have thrown in the towel.

Meh. He's been there throughout the whole post-Fergie mess, he needs to take responsibility as well.
Bar a couple of seasons, he has been one of our best player and consistently saving us from embarrassment. So your judgment is unfair I think. And he is one a a few to have won the league at the club, so he is the last of our problems.

Love how people defend Maguire when our defence was good yet De Gea breeds nervousness. Mate, you could have Buffon behind our defenders and they'll still be cack.

It's aimed at Rashford, Pogba, Lingard, McTominay, Bailly, Martial and Henderson. Possibly Lindelof and Maguire as well.

You have no idea about who is targetted or if anyone else should be targetted which is the issue with his comment.

The most important word he mentions is "character". Some of these boys are a disgrace

Maybe Wan Bissaka as well, and whoever else has said they want to leave behind the scenes. McTomminay won’t leave unless we force him out, he knows he won’t play for a top half team if he walks
