De Gea is our most important player, he has every right to demand to be the highest paid player. End of.
My latest FM19 save is now at 2024. I have 12 players above 150,000 wages and the board decided to upgrade the stadium to 85k capacity. Reduced the wage budget and I'm in serious trouble of losing all the key players. Eder Militao in 2 years contract and demanding a new contract, I can't do shit to renew.
What I'm trying to say is, if De Gea gets 350k per week in wages, it wouldn't hurt our wage structure just yet. It's still fine.

Btw, do you need help?
The Sanchez deal is going to be an issie for all of our club stars for a few years. Cant blame Alexis... who would turn that down? However the likes of De Gea, Martial, Pogba and co are in there rights to ask for somerhing in the same ball park.
That free transfer/swap now doesnt deem such a good deal. I'd rather have Mikhi competing for a spot right now than a struggling Alexis ( and I hope he can turn it aroind but every game it seems less likely).
As for DDG he really doesnt have anywhere else to go with RM havibg signed Courtouis, Barcz being in a good position. PSG maybe?
Juventus have Sczczczczczcesny as their GK, surely they’d be in for DDG.
Don't think they can afford another 80-100 million signing after Ronaldo. How much money do they have really?
Are we affected by the PL wage increase rules?
From what I've read it seems you can only increase your wages by £7M a year unless you can show that the excess is due to increases in operating profit
I'd imagine with our endless new sponsors, operating profit is increasing year on year and maybe this doesn't effect us
But something to think about anyway
You probably have a point, but I find it amusing how Juve have become the new Real for us - the bogeyman football giant ready to steal our best players.Juventus have Sczczczczczcesny as their GK, surely they’d be in for DDG.
Aints got that Premier League TV money but so they have to supplement their income in different ways. We have $300 million more USD coming into our bank account each year than Juventus according to Forbes.I’ve been trying to buy Juventus tickets and it seems their general sale prices are over 100 euros a ticket, no wonder they have so much money.

That'd be stupid. If he wants top dollar we should force him to sign on for 10 more years. Sanchez only got such a ridiculous wage cos there was no transfer fee, but I agree we should ship Sanchez out right now and write it down as a Mourinho feck-up and make De Gea top earner on around 300k.350k and the skippers armband and that should tie him down for another 5-6 years.
I'm very relaxed about this to be honest. I'm certain he's staying.
I don't think that a player is allowed to sign more than for 6 years or so. Additionally, it would be stupid to do so, considering the possibility of the injuries, and the fact that a keeper very dependent in reflexes would be in such a high salary when he would be approaching forties. De Gea is already 28, by the end of his next contract he would be 33-34. Like Casillas, I think that he might be at the end of his peak at that stage. Unlike the likes of VDS and Buffon he is not brilliant at organizing a defense, and is much more dependent on shot stopping. When his reflexes slow down, he will have a sharp decline. That'd be stupid. If he wants top dollar we should force him to sign on for 10 more years. 10 years would be mental. Maybe he'd lose his edge? Maybe he'd peak? 5-6 years gives him massive incentive to keep up his god like performance level and not take it for granted. That'd be stupid. Just ask him what he wants and get it done and signed. The guy is priceless, United have been a bit fortunate perhaps that he has stuck around in the last few seasons when he could basically pick whoever he would like to play for. Last week at Spurs epitomised his value.
It's very sobering to think where United would have been over the last couple of years if he had signed for Real. It's clear from his comments recently he was glad to see the back of Mourinho and is playing to his best and smiling again in the last few weeks.
I was thinking that it'd be a 10-year contract with wages being severely cut if he isn't first-choice for a certain amount of games per season.10 years would be mental. Maybe he'd lose his edge? Is this a PL rule? I remember some guy at Atletico (Niguez?) signed for 9 yearsI don't think that a player is allowed to sign more than for 6 years or so
4 goals 6million in wages so far. That being said i watched a lovely documentary on Best last night. Good timesSanchez signing is really the gift that keeps on giving. Wonder if we’ll see a positive from his signing before his five years are up?
Thank god we gave Moyes the max then.I don't think that a player is allowed to sign more than for 6 years or so.
Didn’t Ederson sign for longer than six years? So don’t think so, and maybe kepa did as wellIs this a PL rule? I remember some guy at Atletico (Niguez?) signed for 9 years
Tired of this notion, no it fecking doesn't. Just because you wouldn't pay it doesn't mean someone else out there wouldn't pay it. Don't under estimate the stupidity of some football clubs. If he does move on it will be because he wants to and I'm sure it will involve us contributing to his new salary in some capacity for what would have been the remainder of his contract. Let's not pretend we're being held hostage by anyone shall we? We're Manchester United for fecks sake. The sort of money that Sanchez is on, makes it almost impossible to move him on anywhere apart from China. I do hope that we can get him fit and playing somewhere close to what he was for Arsenal. He may have cost nothing in transfer fee, but that 350k per week really sticks in ones craw. Especially if your name is Anthony Martial.
Good luck getting him to sign thatI was thinking that it'd be a 10-year contract with wages being severely cut if he isn't first-choice for a certain amount of games per season.
There aren't enough clubs who will pay this kind of wages outside of China, though. The only one that stands out who would pay anything close to those wages for Sanchez is PSG, and unless they move one of Neymar or Mbappé they won't be even the slightest bit interested. It was a ridiculous deal to sign Sanchez on, there's no two ways about it. Man City don't even have a single player on more than £300k a week. Outside of Ronaldo and Messi, there probably isn't a player on this money other than Sanchez. Rumour is Ozil is on £300k, but if he is that's the only supporting argument of stupidity at other clubs. Most big clubs manage to keep a lot of their good players on under £200k with only the most excellent ones on more.Tired of this notion, no it fecking doesn't. If we were willing to contribute £100k to his salary for the next two seasons I guarantee there would be clubs that the ones you mentioned willing to take him on. Chelsea would be willing to gamble after losing Hazard. There aren't enough clubs who will pay this kind of wages outside of China, though. Regardless, the point of this topic is de Gea and I don't see why he cannot demand to be our highest paid player. Unfortunately, somewhat because of Sanchez's deal, that wages is going to be a good portion more than £300k a week. He's worth it though, because he could go to PSG or Juventus for more than he's on now and be guaranteed to win trophies and have a good stab at the Champion's League.

Worst case scenario is he stays for a couple of seasons and returns low numbers. The longer his contract runs down the cheaper he'll be and the less of a payout he will get. Find it hard to imagine there's isn't some sort of clause in his contract that allows United some option to terminate or reduce payouts if things aren't working out. We're not Sunderland.Isn't his basic salary on around 400k? I personally doubt you'll find any takers unless it's somewhere between 100k and 200k, and even then I struggle to see who.

The notion that Sanchez was a free signing has cropped up a few times recently.
He actually cost us a £30m player.
Although, the way he performed, we wouldn't have got anywhere near that for Mkhitaryan.
And took on wages of 350k-400k.Whilst he did cost us Mkhi, we did also get rid of his wages which was somewhere around 200kpw iirc.
