And took on wages of 350k-400k.
Did you really just write that?

Yes I did because in the overall wage budget his 400kpw minus the 200kpw from Mkhi makes a cumulative addition of 200kpw. Not massive for a club of our size.

When looking at a player of the (then) level of Sanchez, it’s a lot easier to give him the 350-400k when you know that 200k is going to be off the books too.

A valid point about the cumulative wage structure of the club doesn’t need laughing at.

It's David De Gea Quintana for goodness sake! Just give him whatever he wants.

Correct.

You trumpeted it as getting Mkihi's wage off the books. Regardless of the value you put on Sanchez, who has been out-performed by Mkihi since the move, it still resulted in a massive increase in wage costs.
That you still can't see that, is mind-boggling.
If you want to go around calling people 'pricks', at least try to make sure that your post are less moronic.

Is Mikhi in the running for the Baldon D'Ore since his move to Arsenal?

You can't go on about how it cost a £30M player and them not accept that it was also helped by getting rid of the excessive wages said player was on.

It's hardly a laughable point!

Is Sanchez in the running for Ballon d'Or?
As I said, it is simple maths.
Wage costs increased from 10m to 20m using your figures.
He wasn't free. He cost us 30m worth if player.
Sanchez has actually underperformed Mkhi.

So we got a 30m player, for an extra 10m per year, who hasn't been as good as the player we got rid of.
In what way can that be seen as gaining financially?

The Sanchez contract was a mistake. That much is clear for everyone to see. We should pass it off as a mistake (could even blame Mourinho ) we're not willing to repeat. We can't let it influence contract negotiations with our other players or it will spread like a cancer. Negotiations should be based on how they have performed during their time here and the market. Most of our players are already getting paid way too much. They're getting more than they would get anywhere else. That being sais, De Gea should be the highest paid goalkeeper in the world simply because he's the best goalkeeper in the world and he's been very loyal to us. Unlike Martial who has been inconsistent and whose agent has gone public many times in order to force our hand.

Absolutely agree on Dave.
If ever a player deserved to write his own cheque, it's him.
I just hope we can start picking up major honours, so we don't hear any of the "He would've won this and that, if he'd signed for whoever (Real)"

Because Mikhi isnt even a 30m player and you would get more for Sanchez on an open market.
Sanchez is worth more than Mikhi. That's just a fact.

Wages are the bone of contention here, but I'll address your point.
On the wages we pay him, good luck shifting Sanchez. No one will want to match that AND pay a fee. It is unrealistic. It would be difficult even if he was performing at an acceptable level, let alone the shell of a player he is.

We have paid him an extra 10m in this calendar year, so to make a profit, we'd need North of 40m and that is not even including his signing on fee.
Each year that figure increases by 10m.

But we don't have to make a profit on him. Sell him for 30 odd million next summer and what's the cost really?
People get blinded by numbers. We got a 350k, top of the range player or whatever player basically for free, a swap with a flop Armenian who we would struggle to get 15m for.
For what? The joint wage cost of Lingard, Young and Shaw?
We'll lose more on Bailly than Sanchez. Wait and see.

Where did i say we had to make a profit on him? I agree with your view on Mkihi's worth, but doubt Sanchez would return more money.
I'm not going to repeat myself.
Needless to say, we have differing opinions, and it doesn't look like that will change.

Bit of a click bait article that. No actual new news just speculative

At this point I think we all know he'll sign eventually

Now get this done Ole.

He's not (directly) involved in negotiations like these. He's said that himself a couple of times now. Of course, he did improve everything else at the club which made the people in it happier and more likely to want to stay.

He's not? What does he actually do at the club then?

Im sure he'll stay. Cant see him wanting to go to PSG, and usually you dont see many Spanish players in Italy so cant see him going to Juve anyway (especially with the costs and their goalkeeper being decent anyway).

Madrid have Courtous, atletico have Oblak, Barca has Ter Stegen. None of them are going for him anymore.

The best Keeper in the world, could work on his distribution a bit, but sign him up FFS !!!

#bring the flavour can only mean he's replacing lineker as walker's crisp ambassador or our PR guys have lost the plot.

If it is a new contract why not do it for Martial - so I'm not buying the new contract thing just yet

Just look at the tags in the tweet. It is clearly an advert for Lay's who are sponsoring the Champions League. Got nothing to do with a new contract.
