No, it's as speculative on people saying they thing he will leave in the summer, no one knows for sure.

Whilst it's speculation I'd say there's more concrete stuff on him leaving than staying. 3 strong points on him leaving:

He's Spanish and from Madrid, he'd be going home
He hasn't signed a new contract
His family situation

"He seems happy" just seems a bit of an odd reason to stay, it implies he's going to be dead sad ifh e left and his life will take a turn for the worst when I doubt it will. There's reasons he may stay which I pointed out before. You're right it is speculation but when you factor in certain issues the speculation on him leaving would be stronger than him staying for me.

Equally he's stated he's loving it here playing for United and his Twitter feed is very active with positive Tweets about the club and his teammates. His girlfriend has also come out to express the rumours about her hatred of Manchester were false. He has already played in Madrid for RMs rival which could deter a possible move, along with the current RM manager expressing his happiness with the current Goalkeepers he has and that they aren't currently looking to bring another one in. On top of that the club have stated we are relaxed that DDG will sign an extension. If you want to look purely on speculation and what we have directly heard from the parties involved then it actually sways in favour of him staying, not leaving.

Yes, but then people wouldn't be able to whinge constantly & be miserable.

Well he's not going to say he hates it and is desperate to get out on Twitter, be a bit odd. Again, I didn't even suggest he was unhappy. My point was that it's possible to be happy but be happier somewhere else. I like my job, if someone offered me a job closer to home for more money doing the exact same thing I'd probably leave and be happier, doesn't mean I hate my job or co-workers etc. The same applies for Ancelotti I doubt he'll come out and say he wants a new keeper (Ancelotti might not even be there next season anyway.)

Didn't the club say they were "Relaxed about the deal" and not that he'll sign? That could mean many things. I.e. he will stay or also that they know he's going so have planned appropriately.

It's all opinion at the endo f the day, there's no proof either way. My initial point seems to have been grossly exaggerated which was that it's 100% possible to leave a job without hating it.

Why does it have to be whinging or miserable when it's people making valid points? It'd be a bit to much like MUTV if people had to pretend everything was brilliant. There's clear cause for concern that our number 1 goalkeeper will be leaving the club, it's not as if he's just signed the deal and people still think he'll leave. I'd imagine if this scenario was playing out at City and it was Aguero for example the poll figures would be massively different with most people suggesting the player would leave.

Oh I agree that doesn't necessarily mean that he is definitely saying but we can't discount anything positive like that in the same way we can't discount negatives. I just think on the balance of the information we have at present, it leads more to him staying than it does going. Of course that's not to say he's definitely going to stay, I can see why people would feel he's going to be off in the summer.

Whats going on with his family situation?

I think Utd are 'relaxed' because all parties agreed that it was logical for Dave to make no decision until our status vis-a-vis Europe became clear. So end of the season it is.

I can't understand why this has dragged on so long, which gives me the impression he has gone.

I can think of a few reasons. Our club is in transition and last year was a down year. It's smart business for him to wait and see how the situation develops, how he feels about working with the new manager, what players do we bring in, and just form a more complete picture of what the next 5 years might be like for him at Manchester United. He gains no advantage by signing a new contract now instead of waiting for the summer. Perhaps he and his agent want to entertain other offers, maybe for the purpose of negotiating with us, or to possibly move. Any smart player and agent will keep their options open and explore them. It doesn't mean he won't stay, especially if we finish strong, and keep signing top players. After January passed without a contract extension, it was always unlikely he would sign until the summer.

He could still move, I wouldn't be surprised, but I don't blame him for waiting to see how the club recovers and moves forward.

I'll start getting worried if he doesn't sign by June, atm it makes sense for him to wait. I think he'll eventually end up at Madrid but I'm hoping for a couple more seasons with him at United.

Dave pissing off in the summer is a disaster for United if we're honest. Second time in six years that the club's best player & a confirmed worldy has knocked us on the head for Madrid before hitting his peak. Not a good look imo. What was it we have said about Suarez and Sterling with Liverpool?

There's really no replacement we can get that even comes close to his ability either imo.

Also, Madrid hold all the cards in this one, if he wants to go. With him being in his last year of his contract, there needs to be a deadline on this. Can't have this running and running throughout the summer and letting it affect our own preparations

He's just waiting for CL qualification, as has always been the case.

He's not going to make his """"dream"""" move to Madrid while Casillas is still there. And he'd want us to be adequately compensated if he ever did leave, like most players who sign contracts they know they might not see out.

This will always be a problem we have with non-British players, nothing we can really do about it.

With a better defense, possibly with a new established CB we could do with a solid keeper cause replacing a wc keeper with another wc keeper would be very hard.

He'll no doubt be watching the game tomorrow night and supporting Atletico. I'm hoping it's a bad blooded game, Real bring right bastards to them and cheating them out of the game.

Hopefully DDG blood boils and realises he can't join Real.

We can hope.

Going to be hard for any player to turn down a move to Real Madrid. He'll be going there sooner or later, we should prepare for this and make the best deal possible

I don't think it's non-British thing per say, I think this tendencies is more with Iberian players. Chelsea seems to have done well with non-British players, they've not sold a single player that they wanted to keep.

Not that bothered tbh, if he won't sign I wouldn't want us to let him go for nothing, and run the risk of having him sulking in his last year if we don't agree to sell him.

Just as long as we get a top fee, or a top player it'll all be good.

Smalling has his contract extended, while there are still no news on DDG's front. Starting to get worried.

If this becomes a situation where De Gea chooses to go then we have to make sure 2 things happen, 1 that we get a player in the deal and 2 we get a new keeper, Valdes as #1 is a disaster waiting to happen.

There is no one who can replace De Gea except Neuer and Courtois, and we will get neither. Huge problem if he leaves imo

Like I said, the world will continue to turn stay or if he leaves. Another quality keeper will come in. Valdes was not the best keeper in the world, you could argue not in the top 5-6 keepers but Barca won everything in sight. It's more important the quality in front of the keeper than anything else.....

19th May will probably be the day we find out. Awards night where he'll scoop up the main award and just one game of the season left to go.

If he's decided to leave I think he'll wait until the end of the season to announce it, similar to what Ronaldo did. Would be weird facing everyone at the awards night after announcing he's leaving.

If he has decided to leave, I'd assume his close mates at the club already know.

Yeah but there's fans at the awards night as well. Not to mention the interview he'll have to give when he wins the award. Better to just avoid all that awkwardness.
