Day 7 | Slovenia vs Serbia | Denmark vs England | Spain vs Italy

Italy really lack dynamic talent, have some good technical players but very few with the extra edge of top end athleticism, it is all a bit pedestrian.

Spain were incredibly lucky to not concede against Croatia, but it's balanced itself out today. Should be three or four up.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Croatia beat Italy. They've been poor.

Don't Bilbao always put colossal buyout clauses on players?

Most Spanish teams do because the clauses are mandatory there. You don't have to meet the clause to buy a player.

Bad half from us. It seems clear Spain are a couple of levels ahead of us.

At this point our target should just be finishing 2nd in this group by not losing vs Croatia next and then defeat 2nd-placed group A team (Switzerland?) in the Ro16.
Then no matter who we'd get in the QF, we are inferior to at least 5-6 teams in the EURO
Vabbè but in the knockouts you never know, so I'm not losing hope until the final whistle blows.

Is this Nico Williams normal level?
I have only seen him 3 or 4 times so far and he never impressed me but today he is absolutely great.
He's inconsistent, still young. This is him at his best

The defence has also been good. I liked Cucurella and the French pairing.

Ok I am going to stop hyping Spain to death because every time I do it over the years things get bad for them.

But this is much closer to what they usually look at under 21 level with the plus of Yamal and more variation between possession and instantly going direct.

Great signs here.

Italy have been poor, yet they always seem like the kind of side that won’t let that phase them. If they were to snatch a draw it would be so… Italian.

I think Di Lorenzo has seen quite enough of his back.
He'll go home and find him with his wife and kids, in the family photos, etc. He took his soul tonight
