Hum started praising the Spanish neighbours and they already started with their Ole smugness.

On a serious note this Yamal kid is different.

Feels like the last decade Spain have just passed for passing sake.

This tournament feels different and like the early 2010s in which there's an end product at the end of many of these moves. And they have plenty of good players to bring off the bench.

I could see it being a Spain-Portugal final if they aren't destined to meet before then.
Not sure about Portugal. Wasn't at all impressed by them yesterday.

I think they get dumped out by the first half decent side they meet.

Yeah, Nico Williams and Yamal are the game changers for them. Direct wingers with pace who just run at their fullbacks and make things happen, while their midfield is perfectly balanced to control games on and off the ball

It makes for a far better spectacle. Tiki-Taka was an incredible demonstration of technique, football intelligence and dominance but it was usually a pretty bloodless suffocation that made for dry viewing.

teams are afraid to play against Spain much like teams are afraid to open up against City

Germany still seem stronger, and France are a much better version of what Italy are doing.

But they are playing well, finally they have some good wingers. Shame they have yet to replace Torres and Villa.
Knockout football is unpredictable but so far Spain has already played 2 difficult matches, but it’s not nonsense to say those are the 3 main favourites at the moment.

I don't think that I shared someone else's opinion. So you are correct.
Witty. Clearly I was emphasising the subjective nature of your post, which I felt necessary given the attempt at framing it as objective or factual.

We can just agree to disagree. Or just disagree. Either way, it’s run its course. We don’t see eye to eye on this issue. I respected your opinion, whilst not sharing it. Although the last comment that Barella being miles behind Verratti was generous to Barella, I found to be ridiculous hyperbole.

Again...so there's no one else in the Italy squad with pace other than Chiesa and Dimarco? Not upcoming or existing talents?

Italy is so incredibly static tonight. Spain is very strong but with how static Italy is they hardly even need to press before they recover the ball.

What I like about this Spain team is that they often go long, something they didn't do in the early 10s. They sometimes bypass the midfield and do a long ball to Williams or Yamal, keeps teams guessing and gives them an edge.

Were the Italians on the piss last night? They are so fecking slow
Just getting played off the park. Spain are really on it. They need a tactical adjustment.

Game like today and Fratesi and Scamacca look woefully ill equipped at this level,

It's one of those sounds worse than it actually is though. He's had 4 games to work with Mainoo and Wharton - they weren't real options in November. It's mismanagement that he's trying TAA in there 2 games in a row after the first was already an unmitigated disaster. That he still doesn't have a complete picture of his team 2 games into the Euros, but there are mitigating circumstances and still time to fix things. If not, the next guy will get the chance to fail with England ;)
Oi, the next manager is definitely bringing it home

Feels inevitable that Italy will equalise after all these missed chances.

Nico Williams vs Di Lorenzo reminds me of Doku vs Di Lorenzo at Euro2020. It's no match.

Helps having 2 fast and technical quality wingers.

Is this Nico Williams normal level?
I have only seen him 3 or 4 times so far and he never impressed me but today he is absolutely great.
