Day 7 | Slovenia vs Serbia | Denmark vs England | Spain vs Italy

Pep’s reputation growing by the game because so many of these City players look so average outside of his system.

Good passing stretch.... killed the second it goes to Trent? C'mon man... sorry Trent, but you an inverted right back.

Oh Jude needs to come off. He's done

TAA is so shit in midfield. Why are we experimenting with part time CMs in the Euros.

Was surprised to see that stat about England being the third youngest team in the tournament. They play like a team of over the hill 36 year olds.

Why it took so long for people to see this god only knows. I saw it in our friendly game against Belgium.

It's ironic because there are so many setups/options that could make the midfield very solid as well. Could play a diamond and have both Wharton/Mainoo on the pitch with Jude or Foden ahead. Could play a box and ditch Kane and have Foden and Jude float ahead of Rice and Mainoo/Wharton. Or even stick with the same setup with Mainoo in CM and TAA at RB where he is better suited and provides more creativity.

But nope lets just shoehorn the lads into some shite shape to get them all out there

Him coming back into the midfield is a massive issue. It unbalances the whole side.

Rice, Bellingham, Foden is as good a trio as any in the tournament, but you don’t see half of what they do because you have a centre forward and a right back stepping on their toes in the middle of the field.

The whole point of having that right back in the midfield, is to use his wand of a right foot for deliveries over the top. But with Foden named at LW but playing centrally, and Kane back in his own half, there are feck all outlets for Trent to look for.

100% agree, if your going to play TAA you do need to work to this strengths. Right now he are just highlighting more of his weaknesses in that role. I dread to think what will happen when/if we come against real quality in midfield.

This is so bad. Probably get a lucky undeserved goal later and all will be well again until a much better team humiliates the hell out of us later

It doesn't matter how good the players are, if you have one of these no-tactic coaches you won't win. Southgate, you have to be more than a politician.
Perfect summary. He says and does all the right things to the players and cameras. It he falls so far short with his tactical set up

Bellingham at 19/20 has a disgusting attitude. He’s like prime Ronaldo sulking on the floor if the ref doesn’t give him what he wants.

Bellingham plays like the kid that owns the football and will take it home if he gets pissed off.

Bellingham showing that he’s a player that gets lost when things don’t go his way.

As much as Foden's being poor, he's been much better than Bellingham. I'd bring on Gordon and move Foden centrally to #10.

Watching Englands midfield is like watching Uniteds at certain points this season, gaps all over the place and no balance.

Have Denmark always played like this?

This game and last, the midfield reminds me of RDZ's Brighton with the square/4 player options.

Play Mainoo ffs. Is he stupid or what?

People saying Kane is not to blame. Just look at Kane when Saka had that chance !

He's playing in midfield.

Southgate is a stubborn buffoon. This Trent experiment being trialled in an international tournament is mind boggling. It's like he heard all the complaints he was too boring and defensive with his team selection and thought "watch this guy's". Prat

His stubbornness is only matched by his ignorance of tactics.

@Wumminator you were asking what’s wrong with Southgate the other day. Here’s your answer.

Foden and Trent being shoe horned in because fans/media don’t want to see big names benched… you love to see it.

This really doesn't apply to Trent... that's just Southgate being stubborn at this point, most fans/media didn't have Trent as a starter, and a lot that did, it was in a back 5.
