Day 17: England vs Germany | Sweden vs Ukraine (Ro16 7&8)

Jenas talks non stop shit... and some people were moaning about Emma Hayes’ accent? Do me a favour

England need to move the ball quicker. The players are dawdling before taking the obvious path. It is making it easier to defend against than it should be.
How do you expect this to happen? England's playing with 5 defenders and 2 sitting midfielders. Out of the 3 attacking players, one receives the ball once every tenth minute, the other thinks he's a ballon d'or winner and the 3rd can't do it all on his own.
I've never seen a team set up so badly. We have a funny saying for a tactic like Southgate's where I come from "We play for 0:0 at the back and whatever happens at the front"

Some will find excuses for england being this cautious against Germany, but you have to wonder why a squad full of attacking talents can't produce any decent football the whole tournament. Southgate is simply a very limited manager. He might win this, but he has no balls to take the game to anyone.

It's a squad full of attacking talent but it's never a team full of attacking talent.

7 defensive minded players on today

Anyone else hate 352 as a formation, when two teams play it against each other the game is usually shite.

This is shite, can see this being 0-0 all the way to penalties.

Waiting on the English media to blame this all on Sterling, Rashford, and Saka.

Trust Kane will escape from criticism.

Where are the people calling Kane at least as good as Lewandowski?

It would be very frustrating to limp out against such an average German side but I'm pretty sure that's our destiny unfortunately.
There is a sense of inevitability to this. And we’ll be left wondering what a decent England line up could have achieved in such a wide open tournament.

Shaw isn't attacking now? That LB who has created more chances than any other LB in Europe, isn't attacking minded, apparently. Jenas is getting paid handsomely to say this.

Don’t think the Rice yellow was even a free-kick. Goretzka ran out of steam and threw his leg out to the side to engineer the contact.

Id say it was definitely a free kick, probably not much more than that. The Phillips challenge was a lot more controversial, and like I said earlier no different to Ampadu’s red

Pretty funny if England go out tonight and then extends Southgate's deal :D

Jenas talking out his arse about Shaw. If they want a better attacking threat they should stick Rashford as LWF.
