The international break back in October last year when Southgate brought Phillips and Henderson, that should have been the time to experiment with Trent, Gallagher whatever. He could have ironed it out then and just started this tournament with a balanced midfield as he should have. He’s wasted 2.5 games of tournament football faffing about with the midfield.
Mainoo is such a good tempo setter already. Gallagher isn’t getting a look in.
